LAWHOT is a remote, read-only MCP server that gives an assistant legal news, hot topics, story timelines and daily, weekly and monthly briefings.
What you can do
Fetch the latest items as a 24-hour or 7-day briefing, or search the last 7 days by topic, company, model, product or person, with editorial picks searched first and all public items only as a fallback. Read the current Top 10 hot topics with ranks, and open one story's evolving timeline, latest development, AI digest and related events. Retrieve edited daily, weekly and monthly reports, grouped by section with an overview, for the latest period or a given date, ISO week or month.
When to use it
Useful when the user wants legal news, regulation or case coverage, asks what is hot right now, wants to follow one story over time, or asks for a daily, weekly or monthly legal briefing.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, API key, environment variable or header is declared. Anonymous read-only access is described, and network access to the endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Read-only and anonymous per the description, with no credentials requested. Content comes from a third-party editorial source, so treat summaries and digests as that source's selection rather than verified legal advice. Story lookups require a public ID obtained from the hot topics tool; IDs should not be invented.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/news.lawhot%2Flawhot/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Get the latest LAWHOT items for a 24-hour or 7-day briefing. Prefer selected mode unless the user explicitly asks for every public item. Do not use this for named-topic search or multi-source event context.
