Document-to-Markdown MCP server — convert PDF, Office and HTML into LLM-ready Markdown.

VerifiedStreamable HTTPWeb executableFiles & Storage

Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that converts PDF, Office and HTML documents into LLM-ready Markdown for an assistant.

What you can do
  • Convert documents to Markdown: turn PDF, Office and HTML files into LLM-ready Markdown text.
  • Prepare source material for the assistant: produce clean Markdown that can be read, summarized or reused in later steps.
  • No tool list is published, so the exact operations and input formats are not documented beyond the conversion purpose.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to work with PDF, Office or HTML documents and wants them as plain Markdown instead of raw binary or markup. Suited to document ingestion and preparation steps before summarizing, extracting or reusing content.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at api.mdkit.online over streamable HTTP; nothing to install locally. An optional API key can be supplied in the X-API-Key header; the anonymous tier works without it. Network access to the endpoint is required.
Before you install
Documents submitted for conversion are sent to a third-party service, so avoid confidential or regulated material unless that is acceptable. The anonymous tier may be rate-limited or limited in capacity; the API key is a secret and should be kept out of shared configuration.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Mdkit in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/online.mdkit%2Fmdkit/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
