Make faceless AI short videos from a topic, product page or image: script, voiceover, captions.
Overview
Hosted AutoShort MCP server that lets an assistant draft, price, render and publish faceless AI short videos from a topic, product page or image.
- What you can do
- Draft, review, edit and revise video scripts and scenes, then price, render, cancel and track renders
- Produce faceless videos, chat-style videos, product-page ads, image-to-video, motion clips and UGC-style campaigns
- Plan multi-episode character series with character sheets and per-episode quotes, and pause or resume them
- Check credit balance, usage, limits, cost estimates, subscription, webhooks and API keys
- List connected social accounts and publish a finished video
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to turn a topic, product page or image into a short video with script, voiceover and captions, and to publish it, without leaving the chat. Best for creators or marketers already on an AutoShort plan who want draft-and-render workflows driven from an AI client.
- Requirements
- A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at autoshort.org; nothing to install. An AutoShort account is required. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, or an AutoShort API key sent as the Authorization header in Bearer form. An optional npm stdio proxy exists and needs the AUTOSHORT_API_KEY variable. Renders spend credits from a paid balance.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open AutoShort in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/org.autoshort%2Fautoshort/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

AutoShort MCP
Turn an idea into a faceless short video: script, voiceover, captions and scenes, from any AI assistant that speaks MCP. This repository is the public home of the remote MCP server of AutoShort: a hosted endpoint, so there is nothing to install or run.
- Endpoint:
https://autoshort.org/api/mcp(Streamable HTTP) - Registry name:
org.autoshort/autoshort(Official MCP Registry) - Auth: OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and dynamic client registration (discovered from
/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource), or an AutoShort API key asAuthorization: Bearer sk_live_... - Docs and API keys: https://autoshort.org/en/developers
- Also on npm as a stdio proxy:
npx -y mcp-server-autoshortswithAUTOSHORT_API_KEYset
What you need
An AutoShort account. The server is a connector to your own account, not a free video generator: drafts are free, renders spend credits from your balance. AutoShort's current plans: a 3-day trial for $2.99 (non-refundable, includes 150 credits), then from $19/month; credit packs start at $2.99. See https://autoshort.org/en/pricing for the live prices.
Connect
Claude Code
then run /mcp and authenticate autoshort (a browser opens: sign in and allow).
Gemini CLI
VS Code (.vscode/mcp.json)
Any other client that supports remote (Streamable HTTP) servers: add the URL above. If the client cannot do OAuth, create an API key in the AutoShort dashboard and send it as Authorization: Bearer sk_live_....
What the tools cover
54 tools, with read-only / destructive annotations on each:
Rules the server enforces: a draft is free and renders nothing; a render is priced first (autoshort_estimate_cost / autoshort_quote_video) and spends credits only when you confirm it; real or famous people, protected characters and sexual content are refused. Videos use AI-generated images and voice: switch on the platform's AI-content label when you post. No result or performance is promised.
