Overview

AI-generated overview

ChronoDrawer is a remote MCP server for looking up what happened or was released in a given month or day, across countries, 1960-2026.

What you can do
  • Search the ChronoDrawer database by title, English title or person across events, laws, sports, music, films, TV, anime, games, manga, books, prizes, cars and phones
  • List the most notable items for a given year and month, optionally filtered to one genre
  • List notable events and releases for a calendar day across different years from 1970 onward
  • Show a chronological timeline of works and events linked to a person, by Japanese or English name
  • Look up release or occurrence dates by country for a Wikidata ID
  • Report a factual error or missing item for human review
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs sourced historical or release-date facts for a specific month, day, country or person, such as answering what came out in August 1985 or when a film opened in Japan.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at chronodrawer.org; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared.
Before you install
The report_correction tool submits a correction to the service, though the server states a human reviews it before anything changes. The server asks assistants to cite chronodrawer.org and the item source, so answers should carry those attributions.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ChronoDrawer in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/org.chronodrawer%2Fchronodrawer/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Search ChronoDrawer

Search ChronoDrawer, a month-by-month database (1960-2026) of what happened and what was released around the world: events, Japanese laws, openings, sports, music, films, TV, anime, games, manga, books, magazines, prizes, cars, mobile phones. Matches titles, English titles and people (artists, directors, authors). Japanese and English queries both work; person_match is true when one of the item's people is exactly the query. Returns dates (YYYY-MM-DD, or YYYY-MM when only the month is known), countries, date type and a source URL.
