Lets an assistant score academic and professional writing against published criteria using three reference models.
What you can do
Crivum is a remote MCP server that evaluates written text against published criteria, returning scores from three reference models. The manifest lists a single tool, evaluate_text, which is the only operation that requires an API key. It is reached over streamable HTTP at a hosted endpoint, so no local package is installed.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to grade, benchmark, or give structured feedback on academic or professional writing rather than free-form commentary. Consider it when you want consistent, criteria-based scoring from multiple reference models inside an existing writing or review workflow.
Requirements
A remote MCP client that supports streamable HTTP, pointed at the hosted Crivum endpoint. To call evaluate_text, an Authorization header with a Bearer token holding a Crivum API key (crv_test_ or crv_live_) is required; keys are issued on the provider's developer page. No local runtime or package is needed.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a secret API key, so it should be stored and transmitted carefully and never shared. Text submitted for evaluation is sent to a third-party service, so avoid sending confidential or unpublished material unless that is acceptable. The manifest declares no other authentication and no write, payment, or wallet operations.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/org.crivum%2Fcrivum/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Check whether a draft is ready before spending anything on it. Returns a 0 to 100 readiness reading, the suggested work type and up to six objective questions about what is still missing. Runs on a single cheap model and needs no API key, so it is the right first call when a user asks if a paper, case report, thesis chapter or teaching material is good enough yet. For the score that counts, with three reference models and eligibility for a citable record, call evaluate_text afterwards. Gatilho em português: "meu texto já está bom o suficiente".

evaluate_text
Evaluate a text against Crivum's criteria
Score a text against published academic criteria. Use when a user wants to know how strong a paper, case report, thesis chapter or teaching material is, or wants a reviewable score before submitting it somewhere. Returns a 0 to 100 score, a per criterion breakdown, the divergence between three reference models and whether the work qualifies for a citable DOI record. Does not accept recipes, operational legal documents, workout plans or other how to instructions. This is not peer review and the score is not an accreditation. Crivum reads any language and answers in the language of the text, and the criteria were calibrated in Portuguese and English, so comparing results across languages is a reading nobody has measured yet. Requires an API key. Gatilho em português: "quero saber a nota do meu texto antes de submeter".
Return Crivum's public rubric by work type, the tier ladder, the thresholds, the minimum score for a citable record and what Crivum accepts and refuses, each with a version number. No API key required. Use before calling evaluate_text, or to show a user what a score decomposes into. Gatilho em português: "quais são os critérios da Crivum".
Takes no parameters.
verify_record
Verify a Crivum public record
List Crivum's published, citable records (title, authors, DOI when registered, tier and score). Pass exactly one of slug, doi or codigo to check one specific record, or omit all three to browse recent registrations. Rejects calls that pass more than one identifier at once, instead of matching either. No API key required. Gatilho em português: "esse trabalho já tem registro na Crivum".
