Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted, no-key MCP server for fan-convention data: search furry, anime and gaming cons across US and Canadian metros, with dates, registration windows and…

What you can do
  • Search conventions by text, community, region, state, metro or date range, with upcoming events first or the archive included
  • Read one convention's full profile: dates, venue and address, website, hotel block, transit and multi-year attendance and price history
  • List artist-alley and vendor registration windows that are open now or opening soon, sorted by closing date
  • Look up the regions, states/provinces and metro areas tracked, plus the valid filter values for the other tools
When to use it
Useful when an assistant has to answer questions about which conventions exist in a given area or season, which artist-alley or dealer tables can still be applied for, or what a table, booth or badge costs.
Requirements
A remote streamable-HTTP endpoint; no account, API key or local install is needed. Clients without native streamable-HTTP support can connect through the mcp-remote shim run with npx, which requires Node.js.
Before you install
All tools are read-only and free, and no credentials are requested. Responses include source attribution and canonical links, and the README asks that convention pages be linked when the data is presented.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ArtistAlly in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/sh.alchemylab.artistally%2Fconventions/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

ArtistAlly — Convention Data MCP Server

Free fan-convention data for agents: search furry, anime & gaming conventions across 51 US & Canadian metros — dates, registration windows, table costs, and attendance history.

ArtistAlly is a hosted, remote Model Context Protocol server that gives any MCP-capable agent a single, no-key call for questions like "which conventions can I still get an artist-alley table at?" or "what anime cons are in the Southeast this fall?" It serves the approved ArtistAlly catalog — dates, venues, artist-alley and vendor registration windows, table costs, badge prices, hotel blocks, transit access, and multi-year attendance history — refreshed daily, with organizer-verified fields flagged.

  • Endpoint: https://artistally.alchemylab.sh/api/mcp (streamable-HTTP)
  • Auth: none — every tool is free and read-only
  • Docs & connect guide: https://artistally.alchemylab.sh/mcp
  • In the official MCP registry as: sh.alchemylab.artistally/conventions

This repository is documentation only — ArtistAlly is a hosted service that's always on. There's nothing to install, build, or run locally.

Quick start

Point any MCP client at the remote endpoint via the mcp-remote shim:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "artistally": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://artistally.alchemylab.sh/api/mcp"]    }  }}

Drop that into your client config (claude_desktop_config.json, Cursor, Cline, etc.) and the ArtistAlly tools appear. Clients that speak streamable-HTTP directly (Claude Code, claude.ai connectors) can use the endpoint URL as-is — see https://artistally.alchemylab.sh/mcp for per-client instructions.

Tools

All tools are free and need no auth. See https://artistally.alchemylab.sh/mcp for the always-current list and full schemas.

For registry tooling

The Dockerfile here is not the server — it's a thin mcp-remote bridge so directories that build and introspect a container (e.g. Glama's checks) can start the server and list its tools against the live endpoint. There's still nothing to run locally; just point your client at the URL above.
