Overview

AI-generated overview

Financier's remote MCP server lets an assistant work with a person's personal finance plan built from their own bank data: stage, budget, categories and actions

What you can do
Work with a personal finance plan built from linked bank data: view the current stage, monthly figures and surplus, and the actions it suggests. Sync and categorise transactions, then build the plan and follow its progress. Review spending by date range and merchant. Manage webhook subscriptions for plan and bank events. The README states that everything a person can do in the app, an agent can do over MCP, the REST API, the SDK or the CLI.
When to use it
Use it when an assistant should help someone understand or act on their own Financier plan: reviewing budget stages, spending by merchant, or plan actions. A separate docs MCP endpoint without credentials is available for documentation questions alone.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at financier.sh/mcp. Authentication is OAuth 2.1 or an x-api-key credential. Accounts are invite-only; the demo sandbox bank gives any account a synthetic household to try things on. Agents can start with a sandbox-only anonymous identity and later be claimed by a person.
Before you install
It handles real personal bank data, so access is sensitive. OAuth or an x-api-key credential is required and should be kept private. The server can sync and categorise transactions and build plans, which changes data. Webhook subscriptions send plan and bank events to external URLs. The app itself is private; this repository only holds the public SDK, CLI and agent surface.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Financier in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/sh.financier%2Ffinancier/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Financier

Official agent and developer tooling for Financier: a personal finance plan built from a person's own bank data. Financier is API-first. Everything a person can do in the app, an agent can do over MCP, the REST API, this SDK or this CLI.

Webhooks

ts
import { verifyWebhook } from "@financier-sh/sdk";
// In your handler: the raw body, the request headers, and the secret from webhooks.create.if (!(await verifyWebhook(rawBody, request.headers, process.env.FINANCIER_WEBHOOK_SECRET!)))  return new Response("bad signature", { status: 401 });

Events: plan.built, recurring.detected, bank.reconnect_required, webhook.test. Every delivery is also signed with Web Bot Auth, verifiable against financier.sh's key directory without a shared secret.

Agents without an account

An agent can start before any person is involved: POST /agent/identity {"type":"anonymous"} returns a sandbox-only identity and a claim token. When a person wants the agent to work on their real account, the agent starts a claim with their email, shows them the code, and the person approves it at financier.sh/claim. The full flow, with requests, is in auth.md.
