Make, find, pause and track short links and QR codes from your AI assistant.
Overview
Hosted Rus.sh MCP server that lets an assistant create, find, pause and track short links and QR codes with click analytics.
- What you can do
- Look up account details, usage, links, QR codes and their analytics
- Create short links and QR codes for web addresses, WiFi, email, phone calls or text messages
- Update links and QR codes, including a QR code's title, look or content
- Archive, restore, pause and resume links, and archive or restore QR codes
- Fetch a QR code image through a link that expires after about ten minutes
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to shorten URLs, generate QR codes, or check click analytics for links you already manage in Rus.sh, without leaving the chat.
- Requirements
- Nothing to install: it is a hosted remote endpoint using Streamable HTTP. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1, where you approve the permissions the assistant gets; an API key sent as an Authorization Bearer header also works. A Rus.sh account is needed, and every plan including Free is supported.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Rus.sh in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/sh.rus%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Rus.sh MCP server
[Rus.sh MCP connector – tool definition quality and endpoint health on Glama]
Make, find, pause and track short links and QR codes from your AI assistant.
Rus.sh is a link shortener with QR codes and click analytics. Its MCP server is hosted, so you don't install or run anything: add the address below to your assistant and sign in.
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in: OAuth 2.1. Your assistant opens Rus.sh, you sign in and choose what it may do. An API key also works.
- Plans: every plan, including Free.
- MCP Registry:
sh.rus/mcp
What your assistant can do
The assistant works within the permissions you approve and can never permanently delete anything. Every change can be undone.
Connect your assistant
Step-by-step guides with copy buttons are at rus.sh/pages/ai. Signed-in users also have them under user menu → Connect an AI app, which can create an API key and fill it into each command.
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector. Name it Rus.sh, paste https://rus.sh/mcp, then choose Add and Connect.
ChatGPT: Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server. Name it Rus.sh, keep OAuth, paste https://rus.sh/mcp, then create it and connect.
Claude Code:
Then type /mcp in Claude Code, choose rus-sh and sign in.
Cursor: use Add to Cursor on rus.sh/pages/ai, or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
VS Code: use Add to VS Code on rus.sh/pages/ai, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:
Codex:
Antigravity CLI: its own sign-in does not work with Rus.sh yet, so connect it with an API key. Create one in Rus.sh under user menu → Connect an AI app → Antigravity CLI → Use an API key, then copy the filled-in command:
Gemini CLI (Gemini Code Assist licences):
With an API key instead of signing in: create a key at rus.sh/app/api-keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer <key>.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
