Scriptura gives an assistant a Bible in many editions side by side plus a shelf of nearly a thousand classic works, mostly in the original beside English.
What you can do
Read Bible passages in parallel editions, aligned to English verse numbering
List available editions with ids, languages and book coverage
Find which authors on the shelf quote a given verse, with the quotation and a link
Search the library by title, author, translator, blurb or group
Read a work's table of contents, a section's text row by row, or locate a phrase within it
Browse themed rooms collecting every passage naming Enoch or Melchizedek
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to compare scriptural wording across Hebrew, Greek, Latin-derived and modern translations, trace how a verse is quoted by Church Fathers, rabbis or later writers, or read and search Greek, Latin, Pali, Russian, French and German classics alongside English.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at scriptura.si over streamable HTTP; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared, and no authentication is declared. Network access to the endpoint is needed.
Before you install
The server is read-only in what it exposes: it returns texts, quotations and links rather than writing, sending or deleting anything. No credentials, payments or private keys are requested. Quotations and links come from the provider's shelf, so verify citations against the source before relying on them.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/si.scriptura%2Fscriptura/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Read a Bible passage in one or more editions side by side (Hebrew WLC, Greek Septuagint, SBL Greek NT, English WEB/ASV/Douay-Rheims/Brenton, Russian Synodal, Luther 1912, Louis Segond). Verses are aligned to English numbering even where the Septuagint or Hebrew count differently.
