Answer with the live web: compose live parts of real pages into a Workspace in the Banquish Mac app.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant compose live parts of real web pages into a Workspace in the Banquish Mac app.

What it does
Banquish is a Mac app that opens real web pages and extracts the parts that answer a question, such as a price, chart, player or table, then composes them into a Workspace. The banquish-mcp package runs the stdio shim the app installs, relaying MCP traffic to the app on the same Mac and launching it if it is closed. The extracted parts stay live rather than becoming static snapshots.
When to use it
Worth adding when you want an assistant to answer from live web content and show the actual page elements it used, on an Apple silicon Mac. It suits questions where a current price, chart, table or embedded player matters more than a text summary.
Requirements
A Mac with Apple silicon and the Banquish app installed, from banquish.space or Homebrew. The app must be opened once so it installs the shim at ~/.banquish/bin/banquish. The package runs locally via npx and needs Node.js; no accounts, API keys or environment variables are declared.
Before you install
The package itself sends nothing anywhere, but the shim relays MCP to the Banquish app, which opens real web pages, so page content and your requests reach those sites and the app. The app is desktop-only and Mac-specific. Review the privacy page before installing.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Banquish in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

banquish-mcp

The MCP server of Banquish, for any MCP client.

Banquish is a Mac app (Apple silicon) that lets your agent answer with the live web: it opens the real pages, takes the parts that answer you (a price, a chart, a player, a table) and composes them into a Workspace you see. Those parts stay live.

Use it

Install the Banquish app first, from banquish.space or with Homebrew:

brew install --cask banquish-app/tap/banquish

Open Banquish once: each launch installs ~/.banquish/bin/banquish, the shim this package runs. For Claude Code, Codex and Claude Desktop, its Connect your agent card sets everything up with one click, and Claude Code users can add the Banquish plugin. For any other client, under Connect your agent open Any other MCP client and click Copy for a configuration you can use as it is. Or give the client this package:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "banquish": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "banquish-mcp"]    }  }}

What it does

banquish-mcp runs ~/.banquish/bin/banquish mcp, the stdio shim the Banquish app installs, with stdio passed straight through. The shim relays MCP to the Banquish app on your Mac and opens Banquish if it's closed. This package has no dependencies and sends nothing anywhere itself.

If the shim is missing, banquish-mcp prints how to install Banquish to stderr and exits with status 1.
