CivicBinder: ADA Title II accessibility grades for US local-government websites.
Overview
Looks up CivicBinder accessibility grades for US local-government websites, returning WCAG 2.1 AA letter grades and violation counts.
- What it does
- The server exposes one tool, lookup_ada_report(domain), which returns the CivicBinder Municipal Web Accessibility Index entry for a US local-government domain. Each answer includes an A–F grade against WCAG 2.1 AA, violation counts (total, serious, critical), the top failing rules, the applicable ADA Title II deadline, and the public report page. Every answer also carries a checked receipt recording when the lookup ran, which index it read, and what that index covers.
- When to use it
- Useful when an assistant needs to check or cite the accessibility standing of a city, county, or special district website, for example when preparing compliance summaries or comparing municipal sites. It is a read-only lookup, so it fits research and reporting rather than remediation work.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed via the npm package civicbinder-mcp (for example with npx). Node.js and network access are needed. No API key, signup, environment variables, or headers are required. It can optionally serve streamable HTTP on a local port.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open CivicBinder MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
