Overview

AI-generated overview

MailBots lets an assistant read email sent to catch-all test hostnames and pull out verification codes (OTP) for end-to-end tests.

What you can do
  • List the hostnames the API key can receive mail on, with their status
  • List recent messages newest first, optionally filtered to one address, with metadata and extracted OTP
  • Fetch a single message by id, including its plain-text body
  • Return the newest message for an address together with its verification code
When to use it
Useful when testing signup, login or password-reset flows that send email: give each test run a fresh address on a catch-all hostname, then have the assistant fetch the OTP or message body instead of checking a mailbox by hand.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint; no local package. A MailBots API key from a trial or paid plan, sent as an Authorization bearer header. At least one catch-all hostname configured on the account.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the Authorization header and grants access to the account's inbox. The assistant can read full message bodies, which may contain personal data. Only test applications you own or are authorized to test.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open MailBots in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect Authorization token credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/top.mailbots%2Fmailbots/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
