Compares UK supermarket grocery prices across 13 stores, with price history, basket totals and deal alerts.
What you can do
Search products and see their current price at each tracked UK supermarket, cheapest first
Check a product's 60-day low, high and typical price with a good-deal verdict
Price a shopping list or recipe, or total a basket, at one store or as a split across two or three stores
Save products to a MyGroceryPal shopping list
Create deal alerts that watch a brand or keyword for offers
When to use it
Useful when someone wants to know where a UK grocery item or a whole basket is cheapest, whether a current price is a good deal, or wants ongoing alerts when a product goes on offer.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. The account-based tools (compare_basket, save_shopping_list, create_deal_alert) need the user's MyGroceryPal account.
Before you install
Three tools act on the user's MyGroceryPal account: compare_basket, save_shopping_list (adds products to a saved list) and create_deal_alert (creates ongoing alerts). Prices are checked daily and may not match the store at checkout; use the store links the server returns rather than constructed ones.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/uk.co.mygrocerypal%2Fgrocery-prices/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Find a grocery product and its current price at every UK supermarket MyGroceryPal tracks, cheapest store first. Returns up to 5 products. Each price has a storeUrl that opens that store's product page: give the user these links, not ones you build, when they want to buy. For a list or a recipe, call price_shopping_list once instead.
Parametersqueryrequired
check_price_history
Check a product's price history
Say whether a product's cheapest current price is a good deal: its 60-day low and high, its typical price, and a verdict.
ParametersproductIdrequired
price_shopping_list
Price a shopping list
Price a whole shopping list or recipe in one call: up to 40 lines in plain words. Matches each line to a product, then totals the list at one named store, or finds the cheapest single store and any cheaper split across two or three stores. Each priced line has a storeUrl that opens the product at that store: give the user these links when they want to buy. Afterwards, offer to save the list to their MyGroceryPal account with save_shopping_list.
Parametersitemsrequiredstore
compare_basket
Compare a basket across supermarkets
Total a basket of up to 30 products at each UK supermarket, name the cheapest single store, and suggest a split across two or three stores when it is cheaper or gets more of the list. Needs the user's MyGroceryPal account.
Parametersitemsrequired
save_shopping_list
Save a list to MyGroceryPal
Add products to the user's MyGroceryPal shopping list, so they can open it in the app or on the web, and get deal alerts on saved products the way their MyGroceryPal notification settings say. Only adds: a product already on the list is left as it is. Needs the user's MyGroceryPal account.
Parametersitemsrequiredstore
create_deal_alert
Create a deal alert
Watch a brand or a keyword on the user's MyGroceryPal account, so they hear when a matching product goes on offer. Needs the user's MyGroceryPal account.
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
