Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for searching and citing US federal, state and municipal law, plus tools for forming an LLC or nonprofit, including USDC payment.

What you can do
Search US federal, state and municipal law by topic or keyword, with jurisdiction filters and ranked provisions with verbatim citations and node ids. Retrieve the full official text and hierarchy of a single provision by node id. List covered jurisdictions with provision counts and coverage status. Check account credit balance, tier, rate limits and referral codes. Get state-specific LLC or nonprofit formation checklists with live pricing, compare formation providers, and look up NAICS industry codes. Validate a formation draft, create an order with a USDC payment request, and check payment status.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to look up and cite US law, permits, zoning or licensing requirements, or when a founder wants guided LLC or nonprofit formation with checklists, provider comparison and a prefilled handoff.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. No authentication is declared, though an API key on the connection unlocks account status and credits. Formation checkout requires a founder contact email, an idempotency key and consent fields, and payment is USDC on Solana only.
Before you install
formation.checkout creates a real order and a USDC (Solana) payment request, so money can be spent; payment must be confirmed by email within 48 hours. Formation tools collect personal details such as people, address and EIN answers. formation.compare includes Corpus itself as a scored provider. Some calls consume credits.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Corpus Law in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/us.corpuslaw%2Fcorpus-legal/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

10

law.get_node

Get a law provision

Returns the full official text, citation, and hierarchy of one legal provision, by its node id (the UUID in search results).

Parametersidrequired

law.list_coverage

List covered jurisdictions

Lists the covered jurisdictions (federal, state, and municipal) with per-jurisdiction provision counts, searchable-chunk counts, GIS status, and a placeholder flag.

Takes no parameters.

account.status

Check account status

Reports the credit balance, tier, rate limits, and upgrade options for the API key on this connection, or the free-tier allowance and the key URL for an anonymous caller. Free — this call does not consume a credit. Also mints or returns a referral code; `referral_code` on later calls keeps the same referral identity.

Parametersreferral_code

formation.requirements

Get formation requirements

Returns the intake checklist for forming an LLC or nonprofit in one state: every required field, that state's specific questions, live all-in pricing, and the optional EIN add-on with its price when available. Free; does not consume credits.

ParametersstaterequiredentityTyperequired

formation.compare

Compare LLC formation services

Compares LLC formation providers on price, recurring costs, registered-agent renewals, and machine/agent capabilities, from a dated dataset of 19 LLC services + 1 adjacent verified against primary sources. Corpus is one of the compared providers and is scored with the same rubric, including its own gaps; the response says so. Free; does not consume credits.

Parametersviewlimitproviders

formation.lookup_naics

Find a NAICS industry code

Returns candidate NAICS industry codes (typically 2–6) for a plain-English business description. A code is required for every LLC, and for nonprofits in AK, CT, LA, MS, TN, WV. Free; does not consume credits.

ParametersbusinessDescriptionrequired

formation.handoff

Validate and hand off a formation draft

Validates a formation draft (people, address, management, EIN answers, state-specific answers) and returns exactly what is still missing. A complete draft also returns a prefilled corpuslaw.us link that opens the formation agent with every detail loaded, where the founder reviews, signs in, and pays. Free; does not consume credits.

formation.checkout

Check out a formation order in USDC

Creates the founder's formation order and a USDC (Solana) payment request — no API key, no Corpus sign-in. Payment is USDC on Solana ONLY. The first call takes the complete draft, the founder's contactEmail, an idempotencyKey (the same order is returned on retry), and consent { version, registeredAgentAcknowledgements: true }, which records that the founder accepted the registered-agent acknowledgements. A queue-lane order first returns a submission promise, accepted with a second call { orderId, trackingToken, acceptPromise: { termDays } }. The payment response includes a payPageUrl: an ordinary https link to a Corpus page with a QR code to scan with a phone camera, a button that opens a Solana wallet, and the address and exact amount for a manual send. The founder pays the exact amount from a self-custody wallet (never an exchange withdrawal; refunds go only to the sending wallet) and must click the confirmation link Corpus emails within 48 hours, or the order is refunded. Nothing is filed before that confirmation, and then Corpus's human review, unless the founder chose to skip review on an expedited order (offered only where formation.requirements shows a SKIP REVIEW line). The tax-ID add-on is not sold here. Free; does not consume credits.

formation.payment_status

Check a formation order's USDC payment

Reports the USDC payment state of an order created by formation.checkout: awaiting, paid, expired, underpaid or held, plus whether the founder has confirmed by email (required within 48 hours of payment). Reading the chain also records a payment that just arrived. Free; does not consume credits.

83% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
