Requirements
Runs as a remote endpoint or locally via npx tollboothswap-mcp (Node.js). No account or API key is needed; the optional TOLLBOOTH_PAYER_KEY environment variable holds an EVM private key with USDC on Base to pay tolls automatically. TOLLBOOTH_URL overrides the API base URL. Network access to the Tollbooth API is required.
Before you install
Paid tools cost USDC per call (about $0.005 per swap build, $0.01 per safety check), so an assistant can spend funds. TOLLBOOTH_PAYER_KEY is a private key that must hold USDC on Base; anyone with it controls that wallet. Built transactions are unsigned and must be signed and submitted by the user's own wallet, and token screening is advisory, not a guarantee.
