London postcodes and districts from official open data: prices, crime, schools, rents, commutes

VerifiedStreamable HTTPWeb executableLocation & Lifestyle

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant look up London postcodes and districts using official open data on prices, crime, schools, rents and commutes.

What you can do
This remote MCP server exposes London geographic and neighbourhood data drawn from official open data. According to its registry description, it covers postcodes and districts together with prices, crime, schools, rents and commutes. The manifest does not list individual tools, so the exact operations are not documented here.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to answer questions about London areas, such as comparing districts, checking local crime or school information, or estimating rents and commute context for a postcode. Less relevant outside London or for non-UK location data.
Requirements
Runs as a remote streamable HTTP endpoint at the provider's site; nothing is installed locally. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared, and no packages are listed. Network access to the provider endpoint is required.
Before you install
The manifest declares no credentials, so no secrets need to be supplied. Queries are sent to a third-party remote service, which can see the postcodes and districts you look up; the provider's own terms and privacy practices apply. No tool list is published, so verify what the server can do before relying on it.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open WhereToLive London open data in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/xyz.wheretolive%2Flondon-open-data/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

find_london_district

Find a London postcode district

Resolve a place name, borough, Tube or rail station, outward code or full postcode to the London postcode district(s) the other tools take. Returns up to 15 matches with their borough(s) and how each matched. To screen districts on prices, commute, crime, schools, flood or rent, use find_london_districts instead.

find_london_districts

Screen London districts on several criteria

Find the London postcode districts that meet several open-data criteria at once: a maximum Land Registry median house price, a maximum commute to a work hub, crime at or below the London rate or under a rate per 1,000 residents, a minimum number of Outstanding state schools, a maximum share of postcodes in flood zone 3, a maximum ONS official borough rent for a number of bedrooms, and an optional borough. Each match carries the figures that qualified it, with sample sizes, and its page URL; districts that cannot be checked for lack of data are counted, not hidden. When nothing matches, it returns the districts that miss by only one criterion, closest first, with by how much, and names the criterion that rules out most of them. Houses only: flat medians are not compared across districts (retirement flats are not identified in Land Registry data).

Every block says which area it describes; a single home can differ.
