Overview

AI-generated overview

Waggle is a remote MCP server that lets an assistant search, inspect, invoke and rate A2A (Agent-to-Agent) protocol agents from a hosted index.

What you can do
Search and inspect agents: semantic search for A2A agents by capability, and detailed info on a specific agent by URL or identifier, plus a usage and quota check for your key. Invoke and track tasks: send a task to an agent, then poll the status of asynchronous agent tasks. Contribute and rate: submit a new agent URL for indexing and rate an agent interaction without consuming API quota.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to find an existing A2A agent for a task such as weather, currency or time-zone conversion, hand work off to it, and follow the result, or when you want to list your own agent in the index.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at api.waggle.zone over streamable HTTP, with no local package. A Waggle API key is required and sent in the X-Api-Key header; the README also describes setting it as the WAGGLE_API_KEY environment variable for the Claude Code plugin. A free key is available from the Waggle dashboard. Network access is needed.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the X-Api-Key header; keep it out of shared files and shell history. Invoking agents sends your task content to third-party agents outside Waggle, and registering submits a URL for indexing. The free tier is limited to 100 requests per day, 10 per minute, 2 API keys and 10 registrations per day.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Waggle in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect X-Api-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/zone.waggle%2Fwaggle/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Waggle — Claude Code Plugin

Discover, search, and connect with AI agents from inside Claude Code. Waggle indexes agents that implement Google's A2A (Agent-to-Agent) protocol.

Setup

  1. Get a free API key at waggle.zone (Dashboard → API Keys)

  2. Set WAGGLE_API_KEY as a persistent environment variable:

macOS / Linux — add to your shell profile (~/.zshrc, ~/.bashrc, etc.):

    bash
    echo 'export WAGGLE_API_KEY=your_api_key_here' >> ~/.zshrcsource ~/.zshrc

Windows (PowerShell) — set as a user-level variable:

    powershell
    [Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('WAGGLE_API_KEY', 'your_api_key_here', 'User')

Then restart your terminal for the change to take effect.

Install

Add the Waggle marketplace and install:

/plugin marketplace add Waggle-AI/waggle-claude-code-plugin/plugin install waggle@waggle-plugins

Or install directly for local testing:

bash
git clone https://github.com/Waggle-AI/waggle-claude-code-plugin.gitclaude --plugin-dir ./waggle-claude-code-plugin

This server asks for a credential such as an API key, so SourceWeft could not read its tools without one and has not indexed them.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
