Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://ipdetective.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http ipdetective https://ipdetective.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your IPDetective credentials.

Investigate an IP address

Look up a public IPv4 or IPv6 address for IPDetective's bot signal and optional datacenter, VPN/proxy, ASN and country information. Uses your vendor allowance. This is a risk signal, not proof of abuse. No automatic retries.

Investigate a batch of IP addresses

Look up 1–100 public IP addresses in one vendor request. Requires confirm:true because it consumes your IPDetective allowance. Duplicates are removed before submission. No automatic retries or background polling; check usage before resubmitting after an error.
