Trestle MCP by usefulapi

Use your Trestle account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Validate phone numbers and check US numbers for TCPA litigator risk. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http trestle https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Trestle credentials.

On first connect you provide a Trestle API key (copy it from the Trestle portal at portal.trestleiq.com). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.

Validate a phone number

Check a phone number with Trestle Phone Validation. Returns whether it is valid, its country and carrier, its line type (Mobile, Landline, FixedVOIP, NonFixedVOIP, TollFree and so on), whether it is prepaid, and a 0-100 activity score (70 or above: likely connected; 30 or below: likely disconnected or unanswered). Does not return the owner's name. Use only for identity or lead verification, or caller routing. Never use the result for credit, insurance, employment, housing or benefits decisions (FCRA), or for marketing. Trestle Phone Validation API: GET /3.0/phone_intel.

Check a US number for TCPA litigator risk

Validate a US phone number and run Trestle's TCPA litigator check. Returns add_ons.litigator_checks['phone.is_litigator_risk']: true when the subscriber is a known TCPA litigator, null when the check could not finish. US numbers only. The check is a paid add-on and works only when it is enabled on the API key; otherwise add_ons is missing from the reply. Use it to verify leads before you call or text them. Use only for identity or lead verification, or caller routing. Never use the result for credit, insurance, employment, housing or benefits decisions (FCRA), or for marketing. Trestle Phone Validation API: GET /3.0/phone_intel with add_ons=litigator_checks.
