search_products
Shopper: search products
Find a product the user has already chosen, by exact name, model number or barcode (UPC/EAN), and get its id for compare_prices. Use this when the user is ready to buy: they ask where to buy it, for the best price now, whether a price is a good deal, or for a link. For a parts or shopping list, search each item. Not for researching what to buy (e.g. 'best headphones under $200'): decide that yourself, then search for the chosen model. Do not use for recall or safety questions (use check_recalls).

compare_prices
Shopper: compare prices
Compare current offers for one chosen product across US stores, ranked by price (item plus shipping where the store lists it, tax excluded). Use this at the buy step: the user asks where to buy it, what it costs at different stores, whether a price or sale is a good deal, if it's cheaper somewhere else, or for the link; pass a product_id from search_products. Returns the top 3 offers by default (detail=true for up to 8) and a status that says plainly when no offers exist, so never guess a price. Each offer links to its divux page, where the user picks a store. Official CPSC recall notices that mention the product are included only when there are some; their absence is not a safety check (use check_recalls for that). Do not use to buy or check out.

plan_build
Builder: plan a build
Turn a project you designed (planter, shelf, desk, raised bed, fence, patio, painted room, pipe rack) into exact numbers and a blueprint page. Works for boards, pipe, tube, sheets, and materials bought by area, volume or count. You design it, choose materials and estimate prices yourself (search the web if you can); send every piece with its real size in inches and, for the drawing, where it sits. divux returns what to buy, where to cut each board or sheet (saw blade included), size mistakes to fix (a 2x4 is really 1.5 x 3.5 in), and a link to a page with the drawing, cut diagrams and buy list. It doesn't look up store prices; when the user wants to buy an item, use search_products and compare_prices for it.

check_trip
Trip check: destination advice, fares and airport delays
Everything for a trip in one call; send only the parts needed. Destination (country, plus latitude and longitude for weather): official travel advice from the US State Department, UK FCDO and Canada side by side, active disaster alerts, weather risk for the days ahead, CDC travel health notices, public holidays and an exchange rate. Fares (from, plus to or a country): the cheapest round-trip or one-way fares Aviasales users found recently, sorted by price, with dates, airline, stops and booking links (paid links); cached recent finds, not live quotes, and divux never books. Delays (airports): what the FAA reports right now at US airports: ground stops, delay programs, arrival and departure delays and closures. Use when someone plans or takes a trip ('anything I should know before Lisbon?', 'flights from LA to Tokyo in January?', 'any delays at SFO?'). Facts are dated and linked; never call a destination safe.

check_car
Car check: official facts about a vehicle, and fuel cost
Official US facts about a car, truck or SUV from a VIN or a year, make and model: specs decoded from the VIN (NHTSA vPIC), recalls (NHTSA), owner complaints with the most-reported problem areas, NHTSA 5-star crash ratings, and EPA fuel economy (fueleconomy.gov). Add miles (you work out the distance) for the exact fuel cost of a drive: the car's EPA combined mpg (or an mpg the person gives) times this week's average pump price from the US Energy Information Administration for the state, its region or the US. Use when someone owns, is buying or is comparing a vehicle, used or new, and for road trips, commutes and 'is it cheaper to drive or fly'. A VIN gives the exact version; without one, results cover the model year. Doesn't show accident history, title status or value.

compare_transfers
Money abroad: compare transfer quotes
Exact math on sending money abroad or changing currency. Send the amount, the two currencies and each provider's fee and exchange rate (you find the quotes); divux returns what arrives with each, the exchange-rate markup against the ECB reference rate, the total cost as a percent, a ranking, and the World Bank average cost for the receiving country. With no quotes, it returns the reference rate and the benchmark. Rates are receiving currency per one unit of sending currency; a rate given the other way round is flipped and noted.

check_food
Food check: nutrition, ingredients and recalls
Nutrition facts for a food from its barcode (UPC/EAN, via Open Food Facts) or its name (USDA FoodData Central): calories, protein, fat, saturated fat, carbs, sugars, fiber and sodium per 100 g or 100 ml, per serving and for gram amounts when the source uses grams, with % Daily Value from the FDA's reference values. Volume-based foods aren't converted to grams without density. Barcodes also give ingredients, allergens and Nutri-Score. When a brand is known, FDA recall reports matching it are included. Meals: send items (foods by name or barcode with grams or servings, or restaurant menu items with the numbers you read on the chain's own nutrition page) and optional daily targets; divux adds them up exactly, with % Daily Value and what's left of each target. Use for questions about what's in a food, comparing foods, whether a meal or menu order fits someone's goals, or whether a packaged food was recalled. Not medical or diet advice. Not for medicines (use check_medicine) or skincare and cosmetics (use check_cosmetic).

check_cosmetic
Cosmetics check: what's in skincare and makeup, and EU rules
What's in a skincare, makeup, hair or body product and what the EU Cosmetics Regulation says about each ingredient, from the European Commission's CosIng annexes: banned (Annex II, with any exception), restricted with the maximum concentration, where it may be used and the required warnings (Annex III), fragrance allergens the EU requires on the label, and preservatives, UV filters and colorants allowed only within limits. Send the ingredient list (from the package or the brand's product page), or a product name with brand or a barcode to look it up in Open Beauty Facts. Recalls and EU Safety Gate alerts naming the brand (EU, UK and Canada) are included. Use when someone asks what's in a product, whether an ingredient is allowed or limited, or which fragrance allergens it has. It doesn't rate products or say what suits someone's skin; you advise. Not medical advice. Not for medicines (use check_medicine) or food (use check_food).

check_place
Place check: flood zone, hazard risk and weather alerts
Official US facts about an address or point: FEMA's flood zone at that exact spot (with what the zone means and whether lenders require flood insurance), FEMA National Risk Index ratings for the census tract across 18 natural hazards (flooding, hurricane, wildfire, tornado, earthquake, heat and more), active National Weather Service alerts, current air quality with a 2-day forecast (EPA AirNow), the state's average home electricity price against the US average (EIA), and the county's internet providers with the share of homes each reports it can serve (FCC National Broadband Map), federal disaster declarations and earthquakes nearby, how home prices moved in the metro or state over 1, 5 and 10 years (FHFA House Price Index), public EV chargers within 2 miles and the electric utility (DOE), reported violent and property crime per 100,000 for the city's police or county sheriff against the state and US (FBI), the county's adult health estimates such as obesity, diabetes, smoking and uninsured rates (CDC PLACES), the public water system serving the point with its Safe Drinking Water Act violations over the last 3 years (EPA), and the nearest free HUD-approved housing counselors, and the county's childcare prices by age (US Department of Labor). Use when someone is buying, renting or moving somewhere, or asks about flood or disaster risk for a US address. Send a full street address, or latitude and longitude for a city or ZIP. Outside the US, send latitude and longitude: divux returns earthquakes, active disaster alerts within 500 km (GDACS) and the 10-day weather risk; the rest is US data. Not an insurance quote or a guarantee.

check_medicine
Medicine check: FDA label, recalls, shortages, pharmacy cost
Official facts about a medicine from its brand or generic name (e.g. 'Advil', 'metformin'). In the EU and EEA (send the country): the European Medicines Agency's authorisation, what it's approved for, shortages and safety letters to doctors. In the US: whether it's over the counter or prescription, what the FDA label says it's for, its boxed warning and key warnings, a link to the full label (DailyMed), FDA recall reports, current FDA drug shortages, and what US pharmacies pay per tablet for each strength (CMS NADAC), brand next to generic. With `with` set to a second medicine, returns the exact label sentences where either label names the other. Use for questions about a medicine, its recalls, availability or cost, or a combination someone takes. Not medical advice; absence of a mention is not a sign of safety. Not for foods (use check_food) or medical devices (use check_recalls).

check_inflation
Money value: inflation math from the official CPI
Exact inflation math for any country: what an amount from one year is worth in another, the total price change, the average yearly rate and the latest inflation rate. The US uses the Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI-U (monthly, back to 1913); other countries use their national consumer price index as published by the World Bank (yearly). Use instead of estimating for questions like 'what is $100 from 1990 worth today?', 'what were 1,000 euros in 2000 worth in Germany now?' or 'what's inflation in India?'. Not for today's interest rates (use check_rates) or pay for a job (use check_wage).

check_care
Care check: doctors, hospitals and nursing homes
Clinicians: the federal NPI registry (CMS) for a named doctor, nurse practitioner, therapist or other provider (last name, first name, state), or clinicians of a specialty in a city or state: credential, specialty, state license number, practice address and phone, whether the record is active, and whether they opted out of Medicare. It's a registry, not a quality rating, and doesn't show insurance networks. Hospitals and nursing homes: Medicare's own ratings in a US city or ZIP code, highest rated first. Nursing homes: overall, health inspection, staffing and quality stars, total fines, Medicare's abuse icon and stale inspections. Hospitals: overall star rating, emergency services and safety measures better or worse than national. Each with a Medicare Care Compare link. Use to check who a clinician is, to start a search for one, or when someone is choosing care for themselves or a family member.

check_company
Company check: is a company real, its complaints and its SEC filings
Outside the US (send the country): whether a company is in the global LEI register (GLEIF): its legal name, country, local registry number, whether it's active and its ultimate parent. In the US: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's complaint record (counts, top problems, on-time answers, how often people got relief) and whether it's an FDIC-insured bank; and for a public company, what it reported to the SEC (EDGAR XBRL): revenue, net income and diluted EPS for four fiscal years, the latest quarter against a year earlier, cash and shares outstanding. Use before someone chooses a bank, lender or card, when they're dealing with a problem company, or whenever someone asks how much a company made, grew or earned (send a name or a ticker such as NVDA). Complaint counts grow with company size; compare similar companies. Not investment advice; no stock prices.

Clinical trials recruiting now for a condition, from ClinicalTrials.gov: title, phase, sponsor, who can join (age, sex, healthy volunteers), the nearest recruiting site and its distance, and the study page. Send the place's latitude and longitude (you work them out) to search within a radius, and an age to keep only trials that accept it. Use when someone or a family member is looking for trial options. Two parts; send either or both. Near a US point (latitude and longitude; you work them out): public schools closest first, from the National Center for Education Statistics (latest school year): grades, enrollment, teachers, students per teacher, share on free or reduced-price lunch, charter status, distance, address and NCES page; optionally a level (elementary, middle, high) and radius. A college by name: what it costs after financial aid and what it leads to, from the US Department of Education's College Scorecard: average net price (and by family income), tuition, admission and graduation rates, median debt and median earnings ten years after starting; with a major, that program's graduate earnings and student loans. Use when a family is choosing where to live or enroll, or compares colleges. Doesn't say which school is assigned to an address, and has no test scores. Never call a school good or bad; give the numbers.

Rates check: interest rates now, after inflation
Other countries: the central bank's policy rate (Bank for International Settlements, about 40 central banks, the ECB for euro countries) with the date it last changed and the country's latest yearly inflation. US: today's Treasury yields from the Treasury's daily par yield curve (1 month to 30 years), each next to the latest 12-month inflation (BLS CPI) as a real, after-inflation rate, and optionally the interest a sum would earn at one term. Use for 'where should I keep cash', 'what do T-bills pay', 'is a 5% CD good right now' and similar questions. Not investment advice. Not for what money from a past year is worth today (use check_inflation).

A US state, this week, from CDC open data: the state's acute respiratory illness level, wastewater levels for COVID, flu A and RSV at a typical site with the direction over three weeks (and the sites serving a county when one is given), and whether measles or H5 bird flu was found in the state's wastewater in the last four weeks. Use for 'is flu going around', 'is COVID up', measles worries before travel or school, and visiting someone vulnerable. Send the state, and the county if known. check_recalls
Shopper: check recalls
Look up official recalls in the US (default), the UK or Canada. In the US, category 'product' searches CPSC consumer-product recalls by words in the product name (brand plus product type works best, e.g. 'Rowenta vacuum'); 'food_drug' searches FDA food, drug and medical device enforcement reports (e.g. 'CPAP', 'insulin pump'); 'vehicle' searches NHTSA by make, model and model year. With country 'GB' it searches the UK's product recalls and safety reports (OPSS) and Food Standards Agency alerts; with 'CA', Health Canada's recalls (food, health products, medical devices, consumer products); with any EU or EEA country (e.g. 'DE', 'France'), the EU's Safety Gate alerts on dangerous non-food products and vehicles from the last three years. Use this when someone asks if a product, food, medicine or car was recalled, is safe to buy or use, or before they buy something used. An empty result means none was found, not that the item is safe. Not for medical advice.
