Get the Hindu calendar (panchang) for a date and location: tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana and vara, each with the exact interval it runs for. Use this for any question about which tithi or nakshatra applies on a day. Do not recall these from memory — they derive from astronomical position and differ by location. Send lat/lon and the user's IANA tz so sunrise, sunset and every derived window come back on their local clock with DST applied. Festival entries in the response carry an authoritative festival_key — use that key rather than mapping a display name yourself.
輸入參數tzlatlondate必填langlocation_id
List Hindu festivals falling on a date, each with an authoritative festival_key, a confidence score and the rule that produced it. Use this to answer when a festival occurs. Festival dates move between years and must never be recalled from memory. The occurrence date is also LOCATION-DEPENDENT: a tithi ends at one global instant but a Hindu day is bounded by local sunrise, so the same festival can fall on different civil dates in different places — Raksha Bandhan 2026 is 2026-08-28 in Delhi and Sydney but 2026-08-27 in Paris and New York. Send lat/lon/tz to get the date for the user's own location, and never add or subtract a day yourself. Carry the returned festival_key into any follow-up call.
輸入參數tzlatlondate必填langlocation_id
Explain WHY a festival falls on a given date: the rule applied, its version, the confidence, and the day context behind the decision. Use this whenever the user asks why, disputes a date, or when you need something citable. This is what lets you defend an answer instead of merely asserting it.
輸入參數date必填festival必填location_id
Get auspicious and inauspicious time windows for a date and location — abhijit, brahma muhurta, rahu kaal, yamagandam, gulika. These are fractions of the local day, so they differ by city and season. Never state them as fixed clock times from memory. Send lat/lon and the user's IANA tz so the windows are returned on their local clock. This is NOT the tool for a festival-specific muhurat such as when to tie the rakhi: for that, call list_festivals for the authoritative festival_key and the local occurrence date, then GET /v1/festivals/muhurat?festival={festival_key}&date={local_date}&lat=&lon=&tz=, which returns a source-traced window with its rule_id and provenance. Never derive a festival muhurat yourself by filtering choghadiya, rahu kaal or bhadra.
輸入參數tzlatlondate必填location_id
Find a festival by name and return the dates it falls on. Use this when the user names a festival but not a date.
輸入參數q必填year
Find a city, town or village anywhere in the world by name and get its latitude, longitude and IANA time zone. Call this whenever the user names a place — "New York", "Lyon", "Dubai", "Jaipur" — then pass its latitude, longitude and timezone as lat, lon and tz to get_panchang, list_festivals and get_muhurat. Never guess coordinates or a time zone. Each result has a display_name with the country, so ask the user when several places share a name.
輸入參數q必填limitcountry
List the 15 stored South Asian locations with their ids, coordinates and timezones. Use search_locations instead to find any other place by name.
