執行需求
需要 Node.js 20 以上版本，以及同一台桌機上的 Google Chrome。需全域安裝 npm 套件（不要用 npx），以確保隨套件附帶的 Chrome 擴充功能資料夾位置不變；在開發人員模式下以未封裝方式載入擴充功能，並在 MCP 用戶端註冊伺服器。選用的配對模式使用 FILEFORGE_REQUIRE_PAIRING 環境變數與配對指令產生的橋接權杖。
安裝前請注意
助理會在你已登入的 Chrome 設定檔中操作，因此可觸及這些工作階段能存取的內容，包括需登入的頁面與已存資料。它可以點擊、填寫與切換頁面，執行與刪除工作流程配方，並寫入本機筆記、記憶與已存結果。配對預設關閉，建議開啟。僅限桌機，沒有網頁版。

安裝

在 SourceWeft 中

  1. 開啟 儀表板中的 FileForge Browser DevTools，將其新增到工作區。
  2. 為需要使用其工具的對話啟用該服務。

Desktop only，透過 STDIO。 STDIO 服務會啟動本機處理程序，因此需要 SourceWeft 桌面主機。

fileforge-mcp-server

The MCP server for FileForge. Your agent watches your signed-in Chrome across tabs, sweeps your routes, and hands you the bug report. This package also contains the FileForge Chrome extension, which you load unpacked from the package folder.

You need Node.js 20 or newer and Google Chrome.

Install

npm install -g fileforge-mcp-server

Install it globally, not with npx: Chrome loads the extension from the package folder, so the folder must stay put.

Set it up

This prints the extension folder and the exact command or config for each MCP client, using your real paths. It changes nothing unless you pass --write.

Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and pick the folder it printed. The card should show ID nlcebipkdgecilmgfpobamljieanadpn.

Then connect your client. For Claude Code or Codex, run the command it printed. For Cursor or Claude Desktop, let it edit the config file; it keeps your other servers and saves the old file as .bak:

Verify

With your MCP client open and Chrome running:

Then ask your agent to call fileforge_runtime_action with action: "status".

Pairing

Optional: with FILEFORGE_REQUIRE_PAIRING=1 in the server's environment, the extension must present the bridge token. fileforge-pair prints it, and you paste it into the side panel's Settings tab. See the setup guide.

Updating

Then click the reload icon on the FileForge card at chrome://extensions and restart your MCP client. fileforge-verify warns when Chrome is still running the old extension code.
