Draft and test marketing email for contacts in your own database, from a local desktop app.
Overview
Connects an AI assistant to the Rowsend desktop app so it can draft, preview and test marketing email campaigns against your own contact database.
- What you can do
- List and create projects, and check data source status
- Connect a database, map contact fields, sync contacts and set the sync interval
- Inspect contacts and segments, preview audiences, add suppressions, manage topics
- Read brand and templates, create or update templates, list and upload images, preview emails
- Create, update, duplicate and inspect campaigns, send tests, read stats, pause, resume, cancel or retry failures
- Set up and verify senders, bounce handling and sending limits
- When to use it
- Useful if you run marketing email from the Rowsend desktop app and want an assistant to help write campaigns in your brand, prepare audiences and preview or test drafts, while you keep the final send in the app.
- Requirements
- macOS with the Rowsend app installed in Applications, plus Node.js 18 or later; the npm package is launched with npx. If the app is elsewhere, set the ROWSEND_APP environment variable to its path. The first connection must be approved in the app.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Rowsend in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Rowsend MCP server
[Listed on mcpservers.org] [M8ven Score]
Rowsend is a desktop app for marketing email. It reads contacts from your own database (Postgres on Supabase or Neon, MySQL, PlanetScale, MongoDB or Firebase Auth) and sends through your own provider (SES, Postmark, Mailgun or SMTP). Contacts and keys stay on your computer.
This package connects an MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Cursor or Claude Code to the Rowsend app. Agents can connect your database, write campaigns in your brand, preview them and send you a test. You click Send in the app.
Requirements
- macOS, with Rowsend installed in Applications. Download it from rowsend.com.
- Node.js 18 or later.
Install
Claude Desktop, Cursor or any client with an mcpServers setting:
Claude Code:
Plugins for Claude Code and Codex
The plugin adds the MCP server and a rowsend-setup skill. The skill walks your agent through connecting your database and sender and drafting a first campaign.
Claude Code:
Codex:
The first time the client connects, Rowsend asks you to allow it. Click Allow. Rowsend keeps that client's token encrypted on your computer, so it asks only once. To cut a client off, revoke it in Rowsend → Settings → MCP.
If Rowsend is somewhere other than Applications, set ROWSEND_APP to its path, such as /Users/you/Apps/Rowsend.app.
What agents can do
What agents can't do
- Send or schedule a campaign. Only you can, in the app.
- Delete anything.
- See or type a password or API key. Rowsend opens its own screens for you to paste them.
- Turn off the unsubscribe footer, edit a segment or undo an unsubscribe.
The full guide is at rowsend.com/docs/agents/mcp.
How it works
Rowsend runs its MCP server inside the app, on 127.0.0.1 only. This package finds the app and starts it with --mcp-stdio, which passes messages between your client's stdin and stdout and that local server. If Rowsend isn't running, it opens in the background.
License
MIT. This license covers this launcher. The Rowsend app has its own terms.

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
