Overview

AI-generated overview

Local MCP server that turns a research question into ranked companies with vetted SEC 10-K/10-Q passages and financials.

What you can do
  • Ask a natural-language research question and get ranked companies back.
  • Retrieve vetted passages from SEC 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Pull financial figures alongside the matching companies and passages.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to screen or research public companies from SEC filings, for example finding companies that match a business or risk theme and backing the answer with filing excerpts and financials.
Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process, installed from the npm package @etsquare/sev-mcp (Node.js). Requires a SEV API key supplied in the SEV_API_KEY environment variable; the key is obtained from the provider's account page and starts with sev_. Network access to the provider's service is implied.
Before you install
The server needs your SEV API key in SEV_API_KEY, so treat it as a secret and keep it out of shared configs. Your research questions and any related queries are sent to the provider's service for processing. Results are filing-derived research output, not investment advice.

  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Tools

SourceWeft started this package once in an isolated sandbox, without credentials, to list its tools. That failed: the server did not start.

Score

25% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
