Create and refine nine private, editable meme directions from one brief in any AI agent.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Groki MCP lets an AI assistant turn a short creative brief into nine private, editable meme directions and refine them.

What it does
It exposes tools to create a batch of nine private meme directions from a brief, split across three visual templates and Relatable, Savage, and Unhinged tones. The assistant can read an active draft and its variants, apply deterministic text, variant, or brief edits, and check the connected account's credit balance. Drafts stay private to the connected Groki account, and updates use optimistic concurrency to avoid silently overwriting another edit.
When to use it
Use it when you want an assistant to generate and iterate on meme concepts for a campaign, post, or internal joke without leaving the chat. It suits workflows where the agent proposes several directions and you review and edit them before choosing one.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package or runtime is needed. Connecting requires completing an OAuth 2.1 flow with PKCE and dynamic client registration, with the scopes meme:drafts and meme:credits. A Groki account with available credits is needed to generate batches.
Before you install
Creating a complete nine-direction batch costs one Groki credit, so repeated generation spends account credits; incomplete briefs return clarification questions without charging. Drafts are private to the connected account. The README warns not to paste personal access tokens into client configuration and to use the OAuth flow instead.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Groki MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

README

Groki MCP

Give AI agents a meme factory, not another blank canvas.

Groki MCP turns a compact creative brief into nine private, editable meme directions: three visual templates across Relatable, Savage, and Unhinged tones. Agents can then inspect a draft, refine exact text or variant choices, and check the connected account's credit balance.

Remote endpoint

text
https://www.groki.meme/api/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP
  • Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration
  • Required scopes: meme:drafts, meme:credits
  • Product and OAuth guide: https://www.groki.meme/agents

MCP-compatible clients should connect to the endpoint and complete the OAuth authorization flow. Do not paste personal access tokens into client configuration.

Tools

ToolWhat it does
create_meme_draftCreates nine private meme directions from a brief. One batch costs one Groki credit after a complete brief is supplied
get_meme_draftReads an active private draft and its variants for the connected account
update_meme_draftApplies deterministic text, variant, or brief edits without AI-generation cost
get_credit_balanceReads the connected Groki account's available credits

Example brief

text
Create memes about a Friday production deploy that failed. Make the humor sharp but not mean. Write in English.

The agent should ask Groki to create the draft, review the alternatives with the user, and only then choose or edit a variant.

Safety and privacy

  • Drafts are private to the connected Groki account
  • Generating a complete nine-direction batch costs one credit
  • Incomplete briefs return clarification questions without charging
  • Updates use optimistic concurrency to prevent an agent from silently overwriting another edit
