Elementor MCP Lite
io.github.gmcfuertev0.1.1Updated Oct 5, 2026
Limited local read-only MCP companion: Elementor MCP Lite.
Overview
A local read-only MCP companion that lists configured WordPress/Elementor sites and documents and summarizes supplied layout JSON.
- What it does
- Elementor MCP Lite exposes four read-only tools: it lists configured site aliases and platforms, performs one authenticated GET probe per site, lists up to ten Elementor document titles, ids and status, and summarizes locally supplied layout JSON into node counts and types. It does not create, edit, publish, export or import layouts or documents. It runs locally over stdio and uses a fixed GET allowlist with rate limiting and a response size cap.
- When to use it
- Worth adding when you want an assistant to check connectivity to Elementor sites you own and to get a quick structural summary of layout JSON you already have. It is not suitable for editing, publishing, bulk work, backups or full export/import, which are reserved for the separate paid product.
- Requirements
- Python 3.10 or newer, installed from the GitHub repository rather than PyPI. A WordPress site with Elementor and the separately obtained GMC Elementor MCP companion 0.5.0 or newer, plus a WordPress Application Password. A local sites.json file, the ELEMENTOR_MCP_LITE_SITES environment variable pointing to it, and credential environment variables named by username_env and password_env. Elementor Pro features need Pro.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Elementor MCP Lite in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
Elementor MCP Lite
Free limited companion to the GMC Pro product. This is a separate 0.1.1 client with a fresh history and only four read-only MCP tools. The Pro implementation is absent from this repository.
Lite and Pro
Contact [email protected] for the Pro product and current annual plans; see the GMC catalogue.
Lite is free to use under the limited commercial licence. Source visibility does not grant redistribution or resale rights.
Prerequisites
Python 3.10 or newer. WordPress with Elementor and the GMC Elementor MCP companion (0.5.0+), plus a WordPress Application Password. The companion is obtained separately from GMC at [email protected]; its implementation is not included in this repository. Pro is required for the corresponding Elementor Pro features. Lite's MCP ping checks the companion, not theme editing capability.
Install from GitHub
Windows:
macOS/Linux:
This Lite edition is distributed through this GitHub repository; it has not been published to PyPI. Do not install the separate full Pro package as a substitute for Lite.
Configure
- Copy
sites.example.jsonto a localsites.jsonand keep only the sites you own or are authorized to access. The file is ignored by Git. - Set the credential environment variables named by
username_env,password_env, and the applicable Joomla token/key field. Never put credential values in committed JSON or an MCP chat. - Set
ELEMENTOR_MCP_LITE_SITESto the absolute path of that local JSON file. - Add the server using
mcp.example.json: replace the placeholders with the absolute Python executable and configuration file paths. Ensure the MCP client passes the credential variables to its child process. - Start with
elementor_lite_list_sites, thenelementor_lite_ping_site.
rest_mode: "query" supports WordPress without pretty REST URLs; otherwise
use pretty. Subdirectory installations are supported in the base URL.
Tools
elementor_lite_list_sites: aliases and platforms only.elementor_lite_ping_site: one authenticated GET, sanitized status only.elementor_lite_list_documents: List at most ten Elementor document titles, ids and status; no document export.elementor_lite_summarize_layout: pass the text fromlayout.example.jsonaslayout_json. Returns counts and types; no settings or content.
The server runs locally using stdio. No remote HTTP server, uploads, arbitrary URLs, SSH, license switch or Pro modules are included. Online tools use a fixed GET allowlist, verified TLS, no redirects, at most one request at a time per configured base URL, a two-second interval, and a 1 MiB response limit. HTTP is accepted only for exact loopback hosts. HTTP 403/415 stops subsequent requests to that base URL until restart.
Release status
Initial Lite release: source and package contents inspected and Python compiled. Site integration and runtime tests have not been performed. Do not treat this initial release as a production integration certification.
