Overview

AI-generated overview

A local MCP server that lets an assistant send SMS, MMS and WhatsApp messages, place voice calls, and manage Twilio phone numbers through your Twilio account.

What you can do
Send SMS and MMS text messages through Twilio numbers and messaging services, including media attachments and delivery status checks. Send WhatsApp messages through Twilio's WhatsApp channel. Place and manage voice calls, including call control and recordings. List, buy, configure and release Twilio phone numbers.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to send texts, WhatsApp messages or make calls from your own Twilio account, or to look after Twilio phone numbers, without leaving the chat.
Requirements
Runs as a local process, typically via the npm package twilio-mcp-server over stdio. Needs a Twilio account and the environment variables TWILIO_ACCOUNT_SID and TWILIO_AUTH_TOKEN. Network access to Twilio's API is required.
Before you install
The server holds Twilio account credentials, which can send messages and calls billed to your account and may incur charges. Sending messages and calls, and buying or releasing phone numbers, are real actions that affect recipients and your account balance. Keep the auth token private and prefer a restricted subaccount or API key where possible.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Twilio Mcp Server in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Score

25% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.

  • Tools listed15 pts

Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.

Declare a GitHub repository with a README, or serve resource_documentation in the OAuth protected-resource metadata.

Declare a license in the repository or the registry entry.
