Before you install
The server asks for STRIPE_SECRET_KEY, a Stripe API credential; use a test-mode restricted key with read-only scopes and keep it out of shared configs. It is read-only by design and refuses live keys, so it should not be relied on for any write, refund, or charge action. Queried Stripe data is sent to the configured MCP client and model provider.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Stripe MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

stripe-mcp

Use it with any AI or client that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol)—Cursor, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Windsurf, or other MCP hosts.

Cursor plugin

This repo is an Agent Plugin and a Cursor plugin. cursor.directory only detects components committed at the repo root. The files it needs are:

After install, replace YOUR_STRIPE_TEST_KEY with a Stripe test secret (sk_test_... or rk_test_...) from the Stripe Dashboard. A restricted key with only read scopes is preferred.

index.js loads .env from the package directory when STRIPE_SECRET_KEY is not already set. npm installs do not include .env — MCP clients should pass the key in env.
