Let your coding agent write to your work tracker: issues, branches, PRs and CI, one contract.
Overview
Lets a coding agent work with issues, source control, CI, deploys and notifications across providers through one MCP interface.
- What it does
- Baron is a work-orchestration MCP server that exposes issues, source control, CI, deploy and notify operations to any MCP client. It is described as a platform-agnostic layer giving one pane of glass across providers, usable through MCP and a CLI. The manifest lists no tools, so the exact tool set is not documented here.
- When to use it
- Useful when a coding agent should read and act on work-tracker items, branches, pull requests and CI pipelines across more than one provider without separate integrations. Best suited to desktop setups where the agent runs locally.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local stdio process, started for example with npx -y @zanaat/baron-mcp-server, so Node.js and network access are needed. The manifest declares no authentication, environment variables or headers, but provider access likely requires credentials configured elsewhere.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Baron in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
