Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Asset Panda connector that lets an assistant browse asset collections and columns and search, create and update asset records.

What you can do
  • List accounts, modules, collections, categories and collection columns with their ids and types
  • Get details of a single account, module, collection or record
  • Search records in a collection with filters on column ids, or list them unfiltered
  • Create up to 5 new records per call, mapping column ids to values
  • Update up to 5 existing records per call, replacing the old values of the changed columns
  • Check monthly usage, request a missing feature, upgrade or cancel the subscription
When to use it
Useful when you keep asset, inventory or people records in Asset Panda and want an assistant to look up items, answer questions such as which assets sit in a given location, or add and correct records without switching apps.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint reached over HTTP; no local install. Sign-in is by OAuth, and the login page asks for an Asset Panda Access Key ID and Access Key Secret, which the server stores per user. Write tools need an API key with write permission. Free plan allows 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
Create and update tools change Asset Panda data; create is not idempotent, so a repeated call makes duplicates, and update replaces existing column values. Confirm before any write. Your Asset Panda API key is handed to a third-party host. Paid plans are billed through Stripe checkout links, and cancelling gives no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Asset Panda MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fasset-panda/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Asset Panda MCP by usefulapi

Use your Asset Panda account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Read and search asset records, collections and columns, and create or update records. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://asset-panda.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://asset-panda.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http asset-panda https://asset-panda.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "asset-panda": {      "url": "https://asset-panda.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Asset Panda credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/asset-panda/

On first connect you provide an Access Key ID and an Access Key Secret (Asset Panda → Settings → API Configuration → Create New API Key). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
