Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted AssetTiger connector that lets an assistant find assets, people, sites and stock, read asset events, and create or check assets in and out.

What you can do
  • Search, filter and read assets, including one asset's details, events and change history
  • List organisation reference data: sites, locations, categories, persons, customers and departments
  • List maintenance records, contracts and consumable inventory, and read an item's stock summary
  • Create a new asset, and check an asset out to a person, customer or site/location or back in
  • Check monthly tool-call usage, request a missing feature, and upgrade or cancel the paid plan
When to use it
Useful when you want to ask questions about an AssetTiger account in plain language, such as what is checked out to a person or which assets sit at a site, or to record check-outs, check-ins and new assets without opening the web app.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint added by URL only; the server signs users in with OAuth. On first connect the user supplies an AssetTiger API token and auth token from the account's API Configuration settings, which the server stores per user. No keys go in the client config.
Before you install
Create, check-out and check-in tools change AssetTiger data, and creating an asset makes a new record on every call, so blind retries can duplicate records. Check-outs and check-ins send email only when sendEmail is true. The free tier allows 50 calls a month; paid plans are billed through a Stripe checkout link, and cancellation gives no refund for the current period. The server holds the user's AssetTiger tokens.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open AssetTiger MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fassettiger/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

AssetTiger MCP by usefulapi

Use your AssetTiger account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Finds assets, people, sites and inventory, reads asset events and history, creates assets, and checks assets out and in. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://assettiger.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://assettiger.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http assettiger https://assettiger.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "assettiger": {      "url": "https://assettiger.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your AssetTiger credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/assettiger/

On first connect you provide your AssetTiger API token and AssetTiger auth token (Settings → API Configuration; each token has at least 32 characters). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
