Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Clearstream MCP server that lets an assistant read SMS lists, subscribers, tags and text history, and send texts or change subscribers.

What you can do
  • Inspect the account, sending numbers, lists, tags and text statistics
  • Search and read subscribers, including opt-in status, lists and tags
  • Browse inbox history of incoming and outgoing texts with paging
  • Send an SMS to one or more numbers
  • Add subscribers, add or remove numbers from lists, and tag up to 100 subscribers
  • Check usage, request a feature, and upgrade or cancel a paid plan
When to use it
Useful when you work with Clearstream for SMS outreach and want an assistant to answer questions about lists, subscribers and text volume, or to carry out consented subscriber changes and sends without opening the Clearstream dashboard.
Requirements
Remote endpoint over streamable HTTP; no local install. Sign-in uses OAuth, and the login page asks for a Clearstream API key created in your Clearstream account, plus an Account ID for a subaccount key. The key is stored per user by the server; no keys go in client config. A free tier allows 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
Sending texts and changing subscribers are real, irreversible actions on real phones; the server asks for confirmation and requires written consent from every recipient. The login page collects a Clearstream API key, which the hosted service stores per user. Paid plans cost $9/month or $90/year (Pro) and $39/month or $390/year (Pro+), billed through a Stripe checkout link; cancellation has no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Clearstream MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fclearstream/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Clearstream MCP by usefulapi

Use your Clearstream account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. It reads lists, subscribers, texts and statistics, and sends texts or changes subscribers only with written consent. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://clearstream.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://clearstream.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http clearstream https://clearstream.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "clearstream": {      "url": "https://clearstream.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Clearstream credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/clearstream/

On first connect you provide your Clearstream API key, created inside your Clearstream account, and, for a subaccount key only, the Account ID. The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
