Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Docparser connector that lets an assistant list parsers, import documents, check processing status and read extracted fields and tables.

What you can do
  • List parsers and their model layouts, and check that the Docparser API key works
  • Import documents by public URL or by uploading a small base64 file
  • Poll a document's processing status, page count and failed jobs
  • Read parsed fields and tables for one document or list results across up to 100 documents
  • Re-parse already imported documents after changing parsing rules
  • Check usage, request a feature, upgrade or cancel the subscription
When to use it
Useful when you already run Docparser parsers and want an assistant to pull invoices, orders or other documents into the account and read the extracted data without leaving the chat. Also fits one-off extraction jobs, since a paid plan can be cancelled and runs to the end of the period.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint; no local install. Connect with only the server URL and sign in through OAuth with your own Docparser credentials; do not add an API key or Authorization header. A Docparser account with at least one configured parser is needed. Free tier is limited to 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
Import, upload and re-parse tools write to your Docparser account and replace parsed data on re-parse; confirm before running them. Imports consume page credits of your Docparser plan, and Docparser may buy extra credits automatically if the account owner enabled replenishment or is on an annual plan. The server also offers paid plans with Stripe checkout links and subscription cancellation, so payment actions can be triggered from chat. Documents are sent to Docparser and to this hosted…

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Docparser MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fdocparser/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Docparser MCP by usefulapi

Use Docparser from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — list parsers, import documents, poll their status and read the parsed data. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Docparser credentials.

Live endpoint: https://docparser.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/docparser

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://docparser.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http docparser https://docparser.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "docparser": {      "url": "https://docparser.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Docparser credentials.

docparser_ping

Check API key

Check that the connected Docparser API key works. Returns {msg: "pong"} when it does. GET /v1/ping.

Takes no parameters.

docparser_list_parsers

List parsers

List all Document Parsers on the account (id and label). Start here: the parser id is needed by every other tool. GET /v1/parsers.

Takes no parameters.

docparser_list_parser_models

List parser model layouts

List the model layouts of one parser (id and label). GET /v1/parser/models/{parser_id}.

Parametersparser_idrequired

docparser_get_document_status

Get document status

Processing status of one document: importing/processing flags, page count, timestamps (uploaded, imported, processed), webhook dispatch and failed jobs. Poll this after a fetch/upload: the document is done when importing_in_progress and processing_in_progress are false, processed_at is set and failed_jobs is empty (a non-empty failed_jobs means it failed); then read the results. GET /v2/document/status/{parser_id}/{document_id}.

Parametersparser_idrequireddocument_idrequired

docparser_get_document_results

Get parsed data of one document

The parsed data of one document (the fields and tables the parser extracted, plus file name, page count and upload/processing times). Docparser allows 60 of these calls per minute. GET /v1/results/{parser_id}/{document_id}.

Parametersformatparser_idrequireddocument_idrequiredinclude_children

docparser_list_document_results

List parsed data of many documents

Parsed data of several documents of one parser: the last uploaded ones (default), or those uploaded/processed after a date. Returns up to 100 documents per call; page with offset (next_offset is null on the last page). Docparser allows 30 of these calls per minute. GET /v1/results/{parser_id}.

Parametersdatelistlimitformatoffsetsort_byparser_idrequiredremote_idsort_orderinclude_processing_queue

docparser_fetch_document_from_url

Import a document from a URL

WRITE: ask Docparser to download a document from a publicly reachable URL and parse it with the given parser. Uses page credits of the account's plan (documents queue when credits run out). Docparser may buy extra credits by itself only if the account owner turned on automatic credit replenishment, or the account is on an annual plan that renews early when credits run out - check the Docparser billing settings first. This server never buys credits or changes the plan. Returns the new document_id: poll docparser_get_document_status, then read docparser_get_document_results. POST /v2/document/fetch/{parser_id}.

Parametersurlrequiredparser_idrequiredremote_id

docparser_upload_document

Upload a document (base64)

WRITE: upload one small file as base64 content to a parser and parse it. Uses page credits of the account's plan. Docparser may buy extra credits by itself only if the account owner turned on automatic credit replenishment, or the account is on an annual plan that renews early when credits run out - check the Docparser billing settings first. This server never buys credits or changes the plan. Files up to about 2.3 MB; use docparser_fetch_document_from_url for larger files. Returns the new document id and the remaining quota. POST /v1/document/upload/{parser_id}.

Parametersfile_nameparser_idrequiredremote_idfile_contentrequired

docparser_reparse_documents

Re-parse documents

WRITE: run the parser again over already imported documents (for example after changing parsing rules). Replaces their parsed data. Re-parsing documents already in the account does not use additional credits. 1-50 document ids per call. POST /v1/document/reparse/{parser_id}.
