Requirements

Before you install
The login page collects GPS Insight credentials and the server stores the validated login per user. GPS Insight may charge for API access, and its terms let it use Customer Data to train AI/ML. Paid plans cost money and are billed through a Stripe checkout link; cancellation runs to the end of the paid period with no refund. Data tools are read-only, but meta tools change subscription state.

GPS Insight MCP by usefulapi

Use your GPS Insight account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. It reads vehicles, positions, idle time, fault codes, driving scores, fuel card transactions and alerts, and it changes nothing. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://gps-insight.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http gps-insight https://gps-insight.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your GPS Insight credentials.

On first connect you provide your GPS Insight username and an App Token, or the username and an API user password. Create the App Token under Account → Manage Users → Manage access to api V2 functions → API App. API access must be on for the account, and GPS Insight may charge for it. GPS Insight's terms let it use Customer Data to develop and train AI and machine-learning technologies. The server validates the login and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
