Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Helpwise MCP server that lets an assistant read shared-inbox conversations, contacts, tags and reports, and triage them or send one email.

What you can do
  • List and read conversations with messages, notes and drafts, and list inboxes and team members
  • List, search and read contacts, and create or update contact records
  • List and read tags, and apply or remove tags on up to 25 conversations
  • Assign, close or reopen conversations, and add internal notes
  • Pull overall, team-performance and per-tag reports for a date range
  • Send a single real email from a Helpwise inbox
When to use it
Useful when a support or sales team works in Helpwise shared inboxes and wants an assistant to answer questions about volume, response times and CSAT, look up contacts, or handle routine triage like tagging, assigning and closing.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; nothing to install locally. Sign-in is by OAuth, and the login page asks for your own Helpwise credentials. No API key or Authorization header goes in the client config. A free plan allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans raise the limit.
Before you install
Write tools change Helpwise data: contacts are created or updated (a passed email, phone or custom-field list replaces the old one), conversations are assigned, closed, reopened and tagged, and notes cannot be deleted through the API. Sending email is irreversible and limited to 10 recipients per call. The service is metered and paid plans are billed through a checkout link; cancelling gives no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Helpwise MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fhelpwise/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Helpwise MCP by usefulapi

Use Helpwise from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — shared-inbox conversations, contacts, tags, inboxes and reports, plus triage and a single e-mail send. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Helpwise credentials.

Live endpoint: https://helpwise.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/helpwise

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://helpwise.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http helpwise https://helpwise.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "helpwise": {      "url": "https://helpwise.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Helpwise credentials.
