Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted read-only connector to HERO Software: lets an assistant list contacts, projects and documents and run read-only GraphQL queries.

What you can do
  • List contacts with number, name, company, email, phone and address, filtered by category and paged
  • List projects with number, trade, customer, contact person, address and status, or fetch selected projects by id
  • Get one project with its customer documents and log book history entries
  • List customer documents such as offers and invoices with number, date, value, VAT, status, type and file link
  • Run any read-only GraphQL query on the HERO API, including schema introspection; mutations and subscriptions are refused
  • Check usage, request a missing feature, upgrade or cancel the subscription
When to use it
Useful when you work in HERO Software and want an assistant to look up customers, projects, offers, invoices or project log entries, or to answer ad-hoc questions through read-only GraphQL queries without leaving the chat.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint, no local install; connect with the URL only and sign in through OAuth. On first connect you provide a HERO API key issued by HERO support, which the server validates and stores per user. A HERO Software account is required; the free plan allows 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
The server stores your HERO API key per user, so treat it as a credential. Paid plans cost money: Pro at $9/month or $90/year and Pro+ at $39/month or $390/year, billed through a Stripe Checkout link returned by the upgrade tool; cancellation runs to the end of the paid period with no refund for the current period. Read tools do not change data, but the meta tools manage your subscription and send a feature request.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open HERO Software MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fhero-software/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

HERO Software MCP by usefulapi

Use your HERO Software account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Read contacts, projects, offers, invoices and project log entries, and run read-only GraphQL queries. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://hero-software.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://hero-software.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http hero-software https://hero-software.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "hero-software": {      "url": "https://hero-software.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your HERO Software credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/hero-software/

On first connect you provide a HERO API key (HERO support issues the key on request, see the HERO API documentation). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
