Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server for Jostle Tasks: read users, presets, tasks and comments, and create or update tasks and post comments as your own user.

What you can do
  • List users and list presets to find assignees, collaborators and named groups
  • Read a single task's title, description, due date, assignee, collaborators and completion status
  • List the comments on a task with paging
  • Create a task for an assignee, with optional collaborators or a preset
  • Update a task with JSON Patch operations on title, description, due date, assignee, collaborators and completion status
  • Add a comment to a task as the signed-in user
When to use it
Useful when your team tracks work in Jostle Tasks and you want an assistant to look up tasks and comments, draft or create tasks, adjust due dates and assignees, or post status comments without switching apps.
Requirements
Remote endpoint at jostle.usefulapi.io/mcp; no local install. Connect with the URL only and sign in through OAuth. You need a Jostle Tasks API token, created in Jostle after a system administrator grants your user Tasks API access; the server stores it per user. A paid plan is needed beyond the free monthly call allowance.
Before you install
Write tools create and change tasks and post comments visible to everyone who can see the task; confirm before running them. The server stores your Jostle Tasks API token. Usage is metered: free tier is 50 calls a month, and upgrade tools return Stripe Checkout payment links, so a subscription can be started; cancellation runs to the end of the paid period with no refund for the current period. Due dates are saved in Eastern Standard Time.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Jostle MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fjostle/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Jostle MCP by usefulapi

Use your Jostle account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Read tasks, task comments, users and list presets, and create or update tasks and post comments as your own user. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://jostle.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://jostle.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http jostle https://jostle.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "jostle": {      "url": "https://jostle.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Jostle credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/jostle/

On first connect you provide a Jostle Tasks API token (open Tasks in Jostle and create an API token; a system administrator must first give your user Tasks API access). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
