Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server that lets an assistant inspect and operate Kinsta WordPress sites: environments, backups, plugins, logs, analytics, plus cache clears and…

What you can do
  • List sites, environments, domains and available regions, with status, PHP and WordPress versions
  • Review backups, plugins, themes, redirect rules, denied IPs and force-HTTPS status
  • Read error, access and cache logs, and traffic or resource analytics for an environment
  • Check site usage for the current billing month and follow asynchronous operation status
  • Clear site, edge or CDN cache, restart PHP and start manual backups
  • Report tool-call usage, request features and manage a paid subscription
When to use it
Useful when you run WordPress sites on Kinsta and want an assistant to answer questions about site status, plugin updates, traffic or logs, or to perform routine maintenance such as clearing caches, restarting PHP or taking a backup without opening the dashboard.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. Sign-in uses OAuth, and the login page asks for your Kinsta credentials; the client config should contain only the URL, with no Authorization header or API key. A free plan allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans raise the limit.
Before you install
Write tools change live infrastructure: cache clears, PHP restarts (in-flight requests fail and the site may be briefly unavailable) and manual backups, which are capped per environment. Access logs contain visitor IP addresses. The server is a third-party host that receives your Kinsta credentials and site data. Paid plans are billed through a checkout link, and cancelling gives no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Kinsta MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fkinsta/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Kinsta MCP by usefulapi

Use Kinsta from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — sites, environments, backups, plugins, logs, analytics and domains, plus cache clears, PHP restarts and manual backups. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own Kinsta credentials.

Live endpoint: https://kinsta.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/kinsta

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://kinsta.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http kinsta https://kinsta.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "kinsta": {      "url": "https://kinsta.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Kinsta credentials.
