Overview

AI-generated overview

Connects an assistant to a Kourses membership site to list memberships, check member access, and create members or grant and revoke access.

What you can do
  • List the published memberships of the Kourses website the key belongs to, with id, name, slug and URL
  • Look up which memberships a member can currently access, by member id or email
  • Create a member, or overwrite an existing member's fields when the email already exists
  • Grant membership access, optionally with an end date, and revoke access now or on a given date
  • Check monthly tool-call usage, request a missing feature, and upgrade or cancel the Pro plan
When to use it
Useful when you run a Kourses membership site and want to answer questions about memberships and member access, or handle onboarding and access changes from a chat client instead of the Kourses dashboard.
Requirements
Remote hosted endpoint reached over streamable HTTP; no local install. Sign-in is via OAuth, and on first connect you supply a Kourses API key created for one website in Kourses settings, which the server stores per user. A Kourses account and network access are required.
Before you install
Write tools change live site data: creating a member can overwrite stored fields for an existing email, and revoking access removes content a member paid for, so confirm first. Activation and access emails are only sent when the notification flags are true. The Kourses API key is a credential and should not be placed in client config. Free plan allows 50 calls a month; paid plans cost money and are billed through a checkout link.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Kourses MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fkourses/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Kourses MCP by usefulapi

Use your Kourses account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Read your memberships and member access, and create members or grant and revoke membership access. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://kourses.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://kourses.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http kourses https://kourses.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "kourses": {      "url": "https://kourses.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Kourses credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/kourses/

On first connect you provide a Kourses API key (Kourses → Settings → API keys, created for one website). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.
