Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MagicBell server that lets an assistant inspect notification broadcasts, delivery events, workflows, channels and users, and create or update user…

What you can do
  • List and fetch broadcasts, including single broadcast details
  • List and fetch notification delivery events
  • List workflows and workflow runs, and fetch a single run
  • List users and fetch a user by MagicBell id or external id
  • List delivery channels and configured provider integrations
  • Create and update user (recipient) records
When to use it
Useful when you want to check notification activity from a chat client: how many broadcasts went out, which delivery events occurred, whether recent workflow runs succeeded, or which channels and integrations are configured. Also handy for adding or correcting recipient records without opening the MagicBell dashboard.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. Connect with the server URL only and sign in through OAuth, pasting your MagicBell API key and secret on first connect. The server also exposes usage, upgrade, cancellation and feature-request tools with a free tier of 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
You hand your MagicBell API key and secret to a third-party hosted service, which stores them per user. Create and update tools write user records, so confirm before running them. Paid plans are sold through Stripe Checkout links returned by the upgrade tool, and cancellation has no refund for the current period. Free tier is capped at 50 calls per month.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open MagicBell MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fmagicbell/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

MagicBell MCP by usefulapi

Query and manage your MagicBell notification infrastructure from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Hosted, no local install — connect with your MagicBell API key.

Live endpoint: https://magicbell.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/magicbell

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://magicbell.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http magicbell https://magicbell.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "magicbell": {      "url": "https://magicbell.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your MagicBell credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/magicbell/

On first connect you'll paste your MagicBell API key (and secret). It's validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you.
