Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server that lets an assistant read Missive email and team chat conversations, messages, contacts and teams, and create drafts, send mail and update…

What you can do
  • List and read conversations, their messages with full bodies, internal comments, drafts and integration posts
  • Browse contacts, contact books, contact groups, teams, users, organizations, shared labels and canned responses
  • Create draft messages, optionally attached to an existing thread
  • Update conversations: assign or unassign users, add or remove shared labels, close or reopen, move to inbox, set subject, color or team
  • Create new contacts in a contact book
  • Check usage, request a feature, upgrade or cancel a paid plan
When to use it
Useful when you work in Missive and want an assistant to summarize or search team inbox threads, pull up a contact or message body, prepare reply drafts, or triage conversations by labels and assignees without leaving the chat client.
Requirements
Remote endpoint reached over streamable HTTP; no local install. Sign-in is by OAuth, and on first connect you paste a Missive API token created in Missive preferences, which requires a Productive plan on Missive. No API key or Authorization header goes in the client config.
Before you install
Write tools change real data: creating a draft with send set to true sends a real email immediately, and conversation updates reassign, relabel, close or move threads. Confirm before any write. Your Missive API token is pasted into the hosted service and stored per user, so conversations and contacts pass through a third party. Free tier is 50 calls a month; paid plans cost money and are billed through a checkout link.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Missive MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fmissive/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Missive MCP by usefulapi

Manage Missive collaborative email and chat from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — read conversations, messages, comments, drafts and contacts, and create drafts, send email, and update conversations. Hosted, no local install: connect with your Missive API token.

Live endpoint: https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http missive https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "missive": {      "url": "https://missive.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Missive credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/missive/

On first connect you'll paste your Missive API token (Missive → Preferences → API → Create a new token; requires a Productive plan). It's validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
