Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Parabol connector that lets an assistant start retrospectives, standups and check-ins, read teams, meetings and tasks, and create tasks and comments.

What you can do
  • Read identity, teams, team members, organizations and organization users
  • List meeting history, active meetings and single meetings with phases and reflections
  • List the viewer's tasks with filters for team, user, status and text
  • Create and update tasks, add reflections and comments
  • Start retrospectives, check-ins and standup (team prompt) meetings, and invite people to a team
  • Run arbitrary Parabol GraphQL queries, or mutations through a separate escape-hatch tool
When to use it
Useful when a team runs its agile ceremonies in Parabol and wants an assistant to pull meeting history and action items, draft tasks from a retrospective, or kick off a retro or standup without leaving the chat client.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint connected by URL only; no local install. Sign-in is via OAuth, and on first connect you paste a Parabol personal access token created in Parabol profile settings. The token is stored per user and must carry the scopes each tool needs. Free plan allows 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
Several tools write to Parabol: creating and updating tasks, adding reflections and comments, starting meetings, and emailing team invitations. The GraphQL escape-hatch tool can run any mutation, so it can change data beyond the curated tools. The service is metered and paid plans are sold through Stripe checkout links, so upgrades spend money. Your Parabol token is held by a third-party host.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Parabol MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fparabol/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Parabol MCP by usefulapi

Run Parabol agile meetings from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — start retrospectives, standups and sprint poker, read teams, meetings and tasks, and create tasks, reflections and comments. Hosted, no local install: connect with your Parabol personal access token.

Live endpoint: https://parabol.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/parabol

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://parabol.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http parabol https://parabol.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "parabol": {      "url": "https://parabol.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Parabol credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/parabol/

On first connect you'll paste your Parabol personal access token (pat_...) — create one in Parabol under your profile settings → personal access tokens. It's validated, stored per-user, and scoped to you — no keys in config files.
