Overview

AI-generated overview

Connects an assistant to Rex Software real-estate CRM data: search and read contacts, listings, properties, leads, tenancies and deals, and create a contact…

What you can do
  • Look up and search contacts, listings and properties, with autocomplete by name or address
  • Search leads, appraisals, tenancies, deals, campaigns, activities and listing events
  • Search reminders, appointments, notes and agency staff users
  • Read a single record in full by id for each of those record types
  • Inspect searchable fields and value lists to build correct filters
  • Create a person contact, an internal note or a follow-up reminder
When to use it
Useful when an assistant should answer questions or draft follow-ups from a Rex agency account — for example finding a contact and their notes, listing current properties in a suburb, or checking which leads arrived this week and who owns them.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint added by URL only; no API key or Authorization header in the client config. Sign-in is via OAuth with the user's Rex Software credentials, choosing region (Australia/New Zealand or UK) and, if needed, an account id. A Rex account with the needed privileges is required; a paid agency seat may be consumed.
Before you install
Requested contacts, property and tenancy details, notes and tasks are sent to the connected AI client and its LLM provider, so connect only records you are authorized to process there. Three write tools create a contact, note or reminder; notes and reminders may be visible to colleagues and trigger agency workflows, and creates are not retried, so check Rex before repeating an uncertain create. Usage is metered: 50 calls a month free, then paid Pro/Pro+ plans billed through Stripe, with vendor…

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Rex Software MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Frex-software/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://rex-software.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http rex-software https://rex-software.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "rex-software": {      "url": "https://rex-software.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Rex Software credentials.

Account access and data

Use a dedicated agency-invited integration user with only the privileges needed. It may consume a paid agency seat. Rex Verified Integrator status covers seat-fee benefits and sandbox eligibility; this connection uses the documented ordinary live-account integration flow. Choose Australia/New Zealand or the UK and, if needed, an account id. Vendor charges are separate.

Credentials are encrypted. Requested contacts, property and tenancy details, notes and tasks reach the connected AI client and its LLM provider. Connect only records you are authorized to process there. Disconnect UsefulAPI to stop its connection. Password changes stop new sign-ins; issued tokens may remain valid until vendor expiry/revocation. We request one-hour tokens, but API activity can extend them. Billing follows Rex user id and region across that user's accounts.

Only three writes are exposed: create a person contact, an internal note or a reminder. They require a positive created id to report success. No operation is automatically replayed; check Rex before repeating an uncertain create. Notes/reminders may be visible to agency colleagues and interact with configured workflows. No message-send API is exposed. Reminder completion remains unavailable pending a verified success response.

All 33 tools were checked against current vendor documentation and local mocks. No real customer reads or business writes were tested.

Takes no parameters.

rex_list_accessible_accounts

List the search fields of a Rex service

The field names a search on the given service accepts in criteria, each with its label, type and (for enums) the value list. Call this before building criteria on a field you are not sure of. Sorting (order_by) uses a separate list of sortable fields whose names can differ (for example name_last, not contact.name_last): set include_order_by to get it. POST /v1/rex/<Service>/describeSearchFields (and <Service>/describeModel for include_order_by).
