Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted RunCloud MCP server that lets an assistant inspect servers, web apps, domains, SSL, databases and logs, and run deploys, service restarts and SSL…

What you can do
  • List and inspect servers: details, stats, hardware, latest health, activity logs, services and system users
  • Browse web applications: settings, activity logs, domains, DNS setup, SSL certificate and SSL method
  • Review Git and atomic deployment configuration, projects and deployment history
  • List databases and database users, cron jobs, supervisor jobs and their live status
  • Check firewall rules, Fail2Ban blocked IPs, backups and backup snapshots
  • Act on the server: start, restart or reload a service, force Git or atomic deploys, run a cron job, reload a supervisor, renew or install Let's Encrypt SSL
When to use it
Useful when you manage RunCloud-hosted servers and sites and want to ask questions about server health, hosted sites, SSL expiry or deployments from a chat client, or trigger routine operations like a service restart, deploy or certificate renewal without opening the RunCloud dashboard.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint; no local install. Connect with only the server URL and sign in through OAuth with your own RunCloud credentials; the README says not to add an Authorization header or API key to the client config. A free plan allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans are available.
Before you install
Several tools change live systems: service restarts briefly interrupt the service and its sites, Git and atomic deploys change the live site's files, cron jobs run their command on the server, and SSL tools re-issue certificates and reload the web server. Confirm before write actions. The service is a paid third-party proxy: usage is metered, upgrades return Stripe payment links, and your RunCloud credentials are entered on the provider's login page.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open RunCloud MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fruncloud/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

RunCloud MCP by usefulapi

Use RunCloud from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client — servers, web apps, domains, SSL, databases, cron jobs and logs, plus deploys, service restarts and SSL renewal. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own RunCloud credentials.

Live endpoint: https://runcloud.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io/runcloud

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://runcloud.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http runcloud https://runcloud.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "runcloud": {      "url": "https://runcloud.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your RunCloud credentials.

For basic SSL pass the ssl_id from runcloud_get_webapp_ssl; for advanced (per-domain) SSL, which requires advanced SSL mode (check runcloud_get_ssl_method), also pass domain_id. PUT /servers/{id}/webapps/{webapp}/ssl/{ssl} or /domains/{domain}/ssl/{ssl}.

Parametersssl_idrequireddomain_idserver_idrequiredwebapp_idrequired

runcloud_install_letsencrypt_ssl

Issue a Let's Encrypt certificate

WRITE: issue and install a free Let's Encrypt certificate for a web application (basic SSL) or for one domain of it (advanced SSL, pass domain_id; this requires advanced SSL mode, see runcloud_get_ssl_method). The web server is reloaded; the domain's DNS must already point at the server. Custom certificates are not supported here. POST /servers/{id}/webapps/{webapp}/ssl or /domains/{domain}/ssl.
