Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Trestle server that lets an assistant validate phone numbers and check US numbers for TCPA litigator risk.

What you can do
  • Validate a phone number and get validity, country, carrier, line type, prepaid status and a 0-100 activity score
  • Check a US number for TCPA litigator risk as a paid add-on
  • Report monthly usage against the free-tier meter
  • Request a missing feature, upgrade to Pro or Pro+, or cancel the Pro subscription
When to use it
Useful when qualifying leads or contact lists before calling: confirming a number is valid and likely connected, or screening US numbers for TCPA litigator risk before outreach.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint, no local install. Sign-in uses OAuth; on first connect you supply a Trestle API key from the Trestle portal, which the server stores per user. A Trestle account is needed. Free plan allows 50 tool calls per month.
Before you install
The TCPA litigator check is a paid add-on that only works when enabled on your Trestle account. Paid plans cost money and upgrade returns a Stripe Checkout link; cancellation runs to the end of the paid period with no refund for the current period. Phone numbers you submit are sent to Trestle for lookup. Do not put an API key or Authorization header in the client config.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Trestle MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Ftrestle/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Trestle MCP by usefulapi

Use your Trestle account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Validate phone numbers and check US numbers for TCPA litigator risk. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http trestle https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "trestle": {      "url": "https://trestle.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Trestle credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/trestle/

On first connect you provide a Trestle API key (copy it from the Trestle portal at portal.trestleiq.com). The server validates it and stores it per user. No keys go in config files.

Check a phone number with Trestle Phone Validation. Returns whether it is valid, its country and carrier, its line type (Mobile, Landline, FixedVOIP, NonFixedVOIP, TollFree and so on), whether it is prepaid, and a 0-100 activity score (70 or above: likely connected; 30 or below: likely disconnected or unanswered). Never use the result for credit, insurance, employment, housing or benefits decisions (FCRA), or for marketing. Trestle Phone Validation API: GET /3.0/phone_intel.

trestle_check_tcpa_litigator

Check a US number for TCPA litigator risk

Validate a US phone number and run Trestle's TCPA litigator check. Returns add_ons.litigator_checks['phone.is_litigator_risk']: true when the subscriber is a known TCPA litigator, null when the check could not finish. US numbers only. The check is a paid add-on and works only when it is enabled on the API key; otherwise add_ons is missing from the reply. Use it to verify leads before you call or text them. Use only for identity or lead verification, or caller routing. Never use the result for credit, insurance, employment, housing or benefits decisions (FCRA), or for marketing. Trestle Phone Validation API: GET /3.0/phone_intel with add_ons=litigator_checks.
