Read tickets, topics, comments and users, and create tickets or comments in UseResponse.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server for UseResponse that lets an assistant read tickets, topics, comments, users, chats and reports, and create tickets or comments.

What you can do
  • Search and list tickets and feedback topics, and read one object with its comments and change history
  • Search customers and staff, read a user's profile, custom fields and the objects they created
  • List account settings data: categories, statuses, communities, ticket and user custom fields
  • Read live chats and their messages
  • Read saved reports and their rows with sorting, grouping and paging
  • Create a ticket or topic, or add a comment (optionally a private staff-only note)
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about a UseResponse help desk or feedback community — open tickets and owners, recent comments, who wrote in this month — or to file a ticket or reply with a comment without switching to the web UI.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. Connect with the URL only and sign in through OAuth, then provide your UseResponse subdomain and API key (from User profile, Options, API Settings) on first connect. A free plan allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans are available.
Before you install
The server stores your UseResponse subdomain and API key per user after validating them, so it holds credentials for your account. Two tools write data: creating a ticket or topic is visible to customers once created, and comments are visible to customers unless marked private. Meta tools can start a paid Stripe subscription or cancel it, with no refund for the current period. Usage is metered and capped by plan.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open UseResponse MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fuseresponse/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

UseResponse MCP by usefulapi

Use your UseResponse account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Read tickets, topics, comments, users, communities, reports and live chats, and create tickets or comments. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://useresponse.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://useresponse.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http useresponse https://useresponse.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "useresponse": {      "url": "https://useresponse.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your UseResponse credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/useresponse/

On first connect you provide your UseResponse subdomain (the acme part of acme.useresponse.com) and your API key (User profile → Options → API Settings). The server validates them and stores them per user. No keys go in config files.
