Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Webfleet server that lets an assistant read vehicle positions, trips, events, drivers and orders, and add address-book entries.

What you can do
  • List object groups and objects with master data and last known position
  • Get vehicle details and find the nearest vehicles to an address or coordinates
  • List drivers, orders and address-book addresses
  • List trips and events over a relative date range, optionally per vehicle
  • Create one address in the account's address book
  • Check usage, request a feature, upgrade or cancel the subscription
When to use it
Useful when a team runs a Webfleet fleet and wants to ask an assistant where vehicles are, which trips a vehicle drove, which vehicles are closest to a customer address, or what orders and alarms are open.
Requirements
Remote endpoint only, no local install; connect with the server URL and sign in through OAuth. On first connect you supply a Webfleet account name, a WEBFLEET.connect API key, and a Webfleet user name and password, which the server stores per user. A free plan allows 50 tool calls per month; paid plans are available.
Before you install
You hand over Webfleet account credentials and an API key to a third-party hosted service, which stores them per user; use a dedicated Webfleet user with limited rights. The create-address tool writes new records. Subscription tools can start a paid Stripe checkout or cancel a plan, and the free tier is capped at 50 calls per month.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Webfleet MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fwebfleet/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Webfleet MCP by usefulapi

Use your Webfleet account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. It reads vehicle positions, trips, events, drivers and orders, and it adds addresses to the address book. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://webfleet.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://webfleet.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http webfleet https://webfleet.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "webfleet": {      "url": "https://webfleet.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Webfleet credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/webfleet/

On first connect you provide your Webfleet account name, your WEBFLEET.connect API key (Webfleet issues it on request), and a Webfleet user name and password. Use a dedicated user with only the rights you want to give. The server validates them and stores them per user. No keys go in config files.
