Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted AI video editor MCP server that lets an assistant plan scenes, edit a multi-track timeline and render MP4s.

What you can do
  • Create, list, update, export and import projects, and read full or compact project state
  • Turn an idea into a premise, story beats and a scenario laid out on the timeline
  • Edit the timeline: add, move, trim, split, duplicate and delete clips, adjust speed, volume, position, size and opacity, add transitions, close gaps and batch edits
  • Manage tracks and scenes, upload media, swap placeholders for real footage and capture still frames
  • Draft image and video prompts, build cinematic shots with camera rigs, characters and locations, and generate music, voice-over and lip-sync
  • Preview and final renders up to 4K in several aspect ratios, with status polling and a signed download link, plus undo and…
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to take a video project from a one-line idea to a rendered file, or to make bulk edits to an existing timeline such as re-cutting one project for several aspect ratios. It suits agent-driven editing pipelines where you still want to inspect and undo changes in the browser editor.
Requirements
A remote hosted endpoint; nothing to install. A CutClip.one account and a personal token starting with sfs_, created in Settings under Connect an AI client, sent as the Authorization bearer header. Network access to the hosted endpoint.
Before you install
The Authorization bearer token grants access to your own projects, so keep it private. Editing and reading are free, but renders and AI generation consume pay-as-you-go credits, so agent-driven renders can spend money. The assistant can create, modify and delete clips, tracks and projects, and uploads media to the hosted service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open CutClip.one in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect Authorization token credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/one.cutclip%2Fcutclip/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

CutClip.one MCP Server

An AI video editor that your coding agent can drive end to end.

Connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf or any MCP client to CutClip.one. Your agent can then plan a film, cut it on a multi-track timeline and render the MP4. Every change goes through the same tools as the editor itself, so you can open the project in the browser, see what the agent did, and undo any step.

What your agent can do

110+ tools in total. One personal token covers all of them, and it only ever sees your own projects.

Quick start

  1. Sign up at https://www.cutclip.one. New accounts get free credits.
  2. Open Settings → Connect an AI client (MCP) and create a token (it starts with sfs_).
  3. Connect your client:

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http cutclip https://cutclip.one/api/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer sfs_YOUR_TOKEN"

Codex (~/.codex/config.toml)

toml
[mcp_servers.cutclip]url = "https://cutclip.one/api/mcp"http_headers = { Authorization = "Bearer sfs_YOUR_TOKEN" }

Cursor / Windsurf / other clients (mcp.json)

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "cutclip": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://cutclip.one/api/mcp",      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer sfs_YOUR_TOKEN" }    }  }}
  1. Ask your agent something like:

"Use cutclip to make a 30-second vertical teaser about a lighthouse keeper: plan five scenes, put placeholders on the timeline with crossfades, add a music track, and render a preview."

Example tasks

  • Turn a one-line idea into a storyline, a scenario and a rough cut with placeholders
  • Upload your own footage and have the agent trim, order and crossfade it
  • Re-cut one project for 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, and render each one
  • Batch edits: "make every clip 10% faster and close all the gaps"
  • Overlays: picture-in-picture, logos and GIFs with position, size and opacity
  • Script your pipeline: generate shots → assemble → render → download, all from your agent

Pricing

Pay-as-you-go credits with no subscription. Editing and reading projects is free. Renders and AI generation cost credits, and every new account gets free credits. See https://www.cutclip.one/pricing.
