Lets an assistant search published Claude Code skills, plugins and marketplaces and return each result's install command.

What it does

SkillWorks MCP exposes a single search tool, search_agent_skills, which takes a query plus optional kind and limit parameters. It looks up published Claude Code skills, plugins and marketplaces, ranked by install count, and returns the install command for each match. It is a read-only lookup service with no other tools listed.

When to use it

Useful when you want an assistant to find an existing Claude Code skill, plugin or marketplace instead of writing one from scratch, or when you need the exact install command for a known package. It is a narrow discovery tool, not a general package manager.

Requirements

Runs locally as a stdio process, typically launched with npx, so Node.js and network access are needed. No API key, account or signup is required, and no environment variables or headers are declared. It can also be started in an HTTP mode on a local port.
