StackTab MCP

Looks up published SaaS pricing and free-tier limits, and estimates a monthly stack bill for a given user count.

What it does

StackTab MCP exposes two tools. lookup_service_pricing takes an optional category or service and returns published pricing and free-tier limits for auth, database, payments, email and hosting services, with each plan carrying the date its price was last verified against the vendor's page. estimate_stack_cost takes a named stack and an optional user count and returns an itemised monthly bill, marking which lines fall in the base fee and which are metered.

When to use it

Useful when comparing SaaS providers, checking free-tier limits, or producing a rough monthly cost estimate for a proposed stack at a given scale. It suits planning and budgeting conversations where published list prices are enough.

Requirements

Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package stacktab-mcp, so Node.js and npx are needed. No API key, signup, environment variables or headers are declared. It can also be started with an HTTP flag to serve streamable HTTP on a local port.
